Yeah, I don't understand why the seat doesn't retain its old position if you put the seat back up before you press the button? It's not intuitive and they should've put a seat memory button in the passenger side to compensate.

That's not an OEM rim.
How can I tell. I have the original paperwork from when the car was new. It lists all of the dealer installed options, including the wheels (they were already 18's b/c it was a premium, but they added chrome at the dealer). When the wheel was bent the dealer was going to get me a new one. Also, it has an Infiniti logo on the wheel cap.

The clue is

.

And the fact that I know those rims didn't come OEM. The only OEM 18's for a coupe are the 7 spoke silver or chrome ones.

The Infiniti center caps pop out and will fit in another rim if the hole is the same size. It could also just be an Infiniti sticker.

I'm not saying anything is wrong with the rims. They just aren't OEM. The dealer installed them.

Thanks for the info - this is my first Infiniti, and first time I've had chrome wheels. I wasn't aware that a dealer would install aftermarket rims and have the nerve to pass them off as oem. I'll be going in to the selling dealer later this month and will definitely ask about these rims.

No problem. We're here to help each other.

It's common for dealers to add rims and other accessories onto the car but they should list what was added (and they usually do list them because they charge an arm and leg for them). The dealer shouldn't tell you they are OEM though. But there is nothing wrong with the rims.

Least favorite things about my 05 G35c 6MT:

- Replacing $250/tire tires every 15K miles (10K for the fronts which get very noisy)
- No idiot light on the dash to tell me my fog lights are on
- Having to buy rims and winter tires just to drive in cold weather, but this comes with the territory, so can't complain too much, though I will anyway.
- Clutch, which is love hate. On days when I'm in the groove with it, it's good. On the days I'm not, it's very bad. It really depends on what shoes I'm wearing!
- No Bluetooth
- No iPod connector (at least not OEM)

Most favorite things about my 05 G35c 6MT:

- The look
- The power
- The sound
- The smell
- The feel
- Easy to wash (I don't seem to have a brake dust problem like many others. Was this a feature of the Brembos? My BMW was much worse in terms of brake dust.)

I really should get rid of it. I'm a married guy with two kids and a house and can't justify it. Every time I go out to look for a more "practical" vehicle, I simply can't bring myself to go through with it. I've backed out of two car purchases in the past two months because I can't bring myself to part with the G. First car I've owned where I actually felt this way after a couple of years. Somebody help me!

Were those wheels on the car when you bought it?
The dealer should have told you that those were aftermarket wheels when you brought it in because of the bend.
That Infiniti center cap looks like it is just a sticker. All of the Infiniti centercaps that I have seen have a raised logo on them..

let the dealer know that you are aware NOW that they are not OEM. i'd demand to know what brand/style they are so you can find them on your own. the look fine, don't get me wrong, but i seriously doubt they are an expensive rim. i see complete sets that look similar go for ~$400 a set on ebay.

that's horrible they charged you that much, and then i'm sure they sold the OEM 18's that came on your car for way more than they paid for the chrome ones you have now. real shady...

It's just guys not used to dusting pads and go all bonkers about it.

Really, this sounds like something an autonation dealer would do. I will definitely be investigating this. Thanks to all who pointed this out. I agree, $1400 sounded a little ridiculous.

I was able to fix the wheel, because the bend was slight.

I was thinking $200(max) to fix a bend would have worked. Even if the dealer tacked an additional $200 on it for doing nothing you would have saved 1k.
That is why I asked if you got the bent wheel back. My first thought was that the dealer had the wheel straightened and passed it off as a new wheel...
