1. check the garage opener for a learn button (usually red, or the only one you can easily see)
2. if you have the learn button, as well as the clip remote, press the learn button and run back to the car (which should be facing the garage door)
3. press the button you want to train on the rearview while pressing the remote button and holding it like one inch away from the mirror. the light should flash and when it stops you can let go.
4. enjoy the chic opener lol

any more ?

wow...this forum is awesome!!

i didnt expect a response this quick, but THANKS a bunch!!

yes, my garage opener does have a trainning button...in the documentation that came with the car, it says proceed to step 7(which is using the learning button) only if after u link the remote to your homelink and the light stays solid....my light was blinking so i thought that i didnt have to go on to the next step. i will definitely try what you guys suggested as soon as i get home from work today. im sure that it'll work now..

Thanks!!

1. Reset you homelink by holding the first and last two buttons.

2. Hold your garage door remote 1" away and hold the button you want programmed. (light should blink several times)

3. Hold the learn button on the garage door opener until it starts to blink.

4. Hit the homelink button that you just programmed. (keep hitting it until you door starts to open/close).

This is the way that I used to program mine.

I finally got mine working last night. With other cars I would press the button on my garage door opener first, then hold the remote next to the homelink button. But that wouldnt work, so I tried doing the programming first and then pressing the button on the garage door opener like the directions say to do. That didnt work either, so finally I pressed the button in the garage, programmed the homelink with the remote, and then again pressed the button in the garage. Then it worked.

Tried all the notes, still can't operate my door

I have a genie garage door opener, uses rolling codes, does anyone knows how to program my homelink to operate that door? Also, I see a comment "hold first and last two buttons to reset homelink" which one is first and which one is last. I have a 2003 G35, just bought it, and the owner lost the manual. The rear view mirror has five buttons, left one is door 1, second from left is door 2, third looks like both doors 1 and 2, and finally two buttons that have symbols of an O and I, I think it's an on/off for auto dimming of rear view mirror.

Sure will appreciate any help.
