20.0 gallon tank, but i usually fill up about 15-17 gallons when the light goes on and the car tells me i only have 35 miles till empty. And on the avereage mpg on a tank of gas i get about 21.5mpg

It is really hard to calculate to mgps. without the navigation unit. This is because the light comes on and you have roughly 4 gallons left. When you hit E, you have a little less than 2 gallons left. Figure out how much you put in and then do you math that way.

I've been getting awesome milleage this past 2 weeks. According to my nav, I'm getting 25.1 MPG over the past 300 or so miles of which are about 1/2 backroad and 1/2 highway.

Prior to this, I had been averaging about 23 or so MPG in the same types of driving situations.

 

No navi but I estimate I get ~25-26 mpg (after I fill up and hit the turnpike I just estimate the amount of gas used and check the miles I drove)on the highway. City I'm not sure. My driving is split about third highway, third suburbs, third city and I average 19mpg

 

How on earth are y'all trying to figure MPG? It's not rocket science. Here's the easy way, no nav needed...

Fill up (but do not top off)
Reset trip odo
Drive until you choose to fill up again, 1/2 tank, 3/4, whatever.
Fill up again (no top off)and note the gallons pumped.
Note trip odo reading at that time
Divide the noted miles driven by the gallons pumped.
Bingo - MPG.

ex: 265 mi. / 13.85 gallons = 19.1 MPG

I get 19 - 22 MPG usually (not getting 'on it' too much)

that's hilarious FF - i thought everybody did this. heh.

my dad got me doing it when i was a kid - i do it in my head every time i fill up ever since my first car. it's a great indicator of Issues with your car as well as quality of gas you're using and how hard you're driving the car, etc.

Damnnnn....I must have a heavy foot or something. I've had my G for about 2 months now and struggle to get past 20 mpg. I do about 50% highway too! I think i probably average around 18/19. I just love revvin' the damn thing though.

I've only had my G for about 500 miles, I've been staying under 4K rpm, but I only have been getting 11-13 mpg. Is this normal? Will I get better gas mileage as the engine gets broken in??

11-13?! Where are you driving? Mileage definitely went up with the more miles I've put on but it was never that low

 

Man that blows.. the 1st time i ever filled my tank up i got 19m/g. Now im in the mid to lower 20s on a consistant basis.

My first couple tanks during break-in were terrible. I got a maximum of 15mpg in the first 1200 miles. Now, I still don't get much better than 20, but my right foot has a mind of it's own on frequent occasion.
