does giving it some gas keep it running if it attempts to die?

 

Yeah, if I give it gas after the engine starts, it keeps going.
But I shouldn't have to, and it idles well after starting...

 

dirty maf or throttle body? I'd check those first.

I had this issue as well. Turns out the idle wasn't properly set. Reset the throttle body position and and set the idle and it should be fine.

 

I think my car just did stall two time today at 2 different occasions, i noticed this immediately after i got gas in New jersey.
I think that guy put in regular gas grade 87 instead of 93 which i always use.

I crank it ,it stays on for 2 secs and dies, then second start it starts fine, but rpm's go low, the car shakes tiny bit and then the rpm's catch on and its all fine from then onwards.

There is no check engine light, i did not see any difference in power yet.

How did you reset the timing of the idle?

 

I had this exact problem. Throttle body replaced under warranty.

 

Yikes! Typical dealer strategy, though: Replace the most expensive part possible. I'm surprised they didn't replace the engine...

My G is out of warranty though, so that's not an option.

Problem is, it never happens when I am at the dealer

 

there is some MAF cleaner products out there, I'd try that and the throttle body relearn procedure. That procedure is on here somewhere, if not a google search should find it.

 

I had the same problem, put fuel injector cleaner a few times (everytime you fill up your tank) at least three times that should do it

 

The car isn't going to not start just because there is 87 octane fuel in there.
