Wouldn't it be cool if you could access, for example, weather.com (and/or other websites) while riding along? Imagine seeing weather radar on your nav screen.

I did a search and didn't find anything on this topic, so hopefully, this is not a repeat.

that, and traffic reports would be awesome... or if the nav could actually tell you where the congested areas are and get you around them. one day, I suppose.

I've been hearing about nav systems doing this for years, but I think it's a myth. [lol]

I want this very much as well!

what would be best is if there was a strip club option for the "Quick Stop" function... that way a lap dance would just be a button push away

That would be awesome, but imagine all the people who would be surfing for porn or reading the news while driving...that's gotta be worse than cell phones and steering-wheel DVD players[:)]

I suppose you're right, but I would settle for a lock-out feature then, similar to the "disabled while driving" feature we all hate so much, just to get that option.

I would too...I think that's the current idea. I saw "Microsoft Car" at a career fair in college, and they were demoing basically Windows CE for your dash. It locked out everything except car control (similar to current NAV systems) when the engine was on, but when the car was stopped, you could do just about anything. This was 2 years ago...I wonder why we haven't seen it in cars yet?

And please spare me the obligatory MS comments, I've heard them all [:)]

When the engine was on? I always program when the motor is on...I do it during warmup, or when its hot and I want the AC blowing while I program :)

1) Most of the coolest features of the program rellied on an internet connection for the car which isn't really viable in any meaningful way yet.

2) The automotive industry has a five year design cycle.

Would you all be willing to pay $3k to have a computer (designed and *manufactured* from the ground up) for your car?

With it, giving you the ability to go online, have mp3s, dvds, etc.?
