Ok - I need some assistance from those of you with more mechanccal know-how than I. Here's my idea - I've heard that if you'r pulle dover and a cop sees the radar detector it's AUTO-TICKET. So to avoid this and still have the detector - I've come up with a plan to hide it.

I'd like to cut a slot on the winshield side of the overhead sunglass holder to slide in a Valentine 1 (or any other for that matter). Then power it from the auto dimmer and modify the open/close feature of the sunglass holder for easy access - and so you could keep it open to view the detector, but it wouldn't block your rearview. This would make the detector completely invisable to a cop or or anyone else.

Anyone have any ideas - or daring enough to try it themselves?

Why not get one of those trick V1 remote displays.

the problem with placing the V1 where you are suggesting is that it would not be able to see out of your front and rear window, thus rendering it useless.... they sell radars that use remote sensors and the displays can be hidden, the only company i know of that makes any worth buying is escort.
