There hasn’t really been a need to have have posting policies, but since our community has grown so dramatically over the years (thanks all, for contributing!), we thought it might be a good idea to put some general policies on paper. We pride ourselves in being a very laid back community, but here are a few things we think are worth mentioning:

Be respectful of others. No, we don’t mean you can’t fight and debate with each other (what good is a forum if you can’t do that?), but we don’t want topics deteriorating to name-calling and pointless arguments that go nowhere. Racial attacks will not be tolerated.

Stay on topic. Sure, this is the Off Topic forum, and just about anything goes, but excessive thread jacking or too many threads about nothing (or the same thing) doesn’t make the community better.

No Spam. It will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be publicly ridiculed, then banned.

No Nudity. Ok. Yeah. We know. Naked is fun! But many of our users read the forum when they’re at work. Use common sense when posting images. If you absolutely must share images, use PM, email or hide the image behind a link.

Don’t post just to increase your post count (Post Whoring). We know it’s all fun and games, but honestly, post counts don’t mean anything. Really. We want you all to contribute, but do it in a meaningful way. Threads that get out of hand will be locked.

Last but not least, have fun. This is your community. You built it, and you will continue to make it a great place to visit. Anyone who thinks “having policies = no fun” probably ought to to pull that stick out of their...er...nm.
