When I sat in the G35 at the auto show, the pop-up mechanism felt kind of cheap. Has any one else noticed this? It just felt to me that it might be some thing that would break after repeated use.

Someone needs to find a way to motorize it [8D]

I agree. Wouldn't a motorized one be sweet? I'll be looking into the issue over the next few months.

I think its OK as is. I wasn't really expecting a fancy motorize thing anyway. If you think that the current one would break, imagine if you had a motor pushing it up and down all the time, that would probably break too.

As stated in another thread on here, Infiniti had to cut the costs somewhere and I think instead of having an 'amazing' interior, they opted to cut a few corners. Not really a big deal, in my opinion, as the functionality is the same.

Nav looks awesome. I think coming from a CL and a touchscreen might be tough. I opted for a base 6MT, without navi... even tougher!

I also liked the touchscreen in the acura but after one day with the Infiniti nav I have easily adjusted.

Hey VQ,
I also originally wanted the base 6MT but it was so hard to find. I waited for months. The only reason I wanted the base is because I didn't want the sunroof. So I figured that if I had to get the premium package then I would definetly have to get the nav. Seems like I would never find a base and wasn't sure when they would come in.

The nav is really nice and I am glad I got it.

Yes, I know that the base models are going to be EXTREMELY rare. I've got one on order through Infiniti of Ardmore outside Philly. Order was placed in November and delivery isn't planned until late March or April!

is anyone getting the aero package? I like the spoiler a little bit, but the cost I think outweighs the looks. And personally, decreasing the drag coefficient by .01 while spending that much money is TOTALLY not worth it. just my 2¢

Patiently -- or not so patiently waiting to trade in my 1996 I30 for a wonderful G35 SC!

Personally, I think the G35C looks better without it. Infiniti will be offering the option of buying JUST the spoiler, but for now you have to buy the whole package, spoiler + underbody diffusers. Not worth it.

The spoiler doesn't add anything to the look of the car in my opinion either.

Re: the Navi.

It's kind of a crappy unit for the price.

1) Using a joystick to type in words is hideously painful. A touchscreen on a $2000 unit should be mandatory.

2) The woman's voice is bland and doesn't fit the car at all. It sounds like some repressed soccer mom. They should have hired a porn star with a sexy, sultry voice. The little asian voice in the Lexus, Acura and Honda is far sexier.

3) The displayable information is pathetic. It should have been expanded to display feedback on far more.

4) Add a fricking DVD movie codec.

That said, I have it in mine as it was the first diamond graphite 6MT with the premium package in the city. I didn't want to wait.
