Aren't you worried about doing all this stuff on a leased car?
If you don't mind my asking, why didn't you buy instead of leasing?

I had a long talk with the dealership about this. No worries. In hindsight I should have bought it, but no sense crying over spilled milk. I have it for at least 4 years so I might as well enjoy it.

On another note, I've never so much as changed the oil filter on any of my previous cars, so I never would have guessed that I would be bitten by the mod bug. [

Good point about the leased vehicle, Don (palombella, that is). Made more sense when Don (Gutierrez) was adding stuff that he can "take with him" after turning the car back in. You must be rolling in dough, aren't you Lead? I do like the idea of moving VDC to the center console though. That's cool if you use it a lot.

I wish I could see that car first-hand during an auto-x. I'll bet with all of those changes, it handles quite well. Will you ever have the opportunity to take it on a road course, Lead? It is an absolute blast. Consider it the long-play version of an auto-x. [

No, don't get me wrong guys, you have a totally valid point. If I could go back I would have totally bought it, but what's done is done. I'm not going to let the lease handcuff me. What I'll most likely do is buy it when the lease is over and hand it over to my wife. I'm paying more in the long run, but I'm having fun with it.

Chicago. Somebody on G35Driver mentioned a day at Gingerman, which is in SW Michigan. Otherwise, I don't know what is closer to you; Putnam Park in Indiana, maybe?

I think there's one in Florida which is probably closest to me. I've also heard of one in Atlanta that everyone fears (I saw it when Car & Driver did a 2 part show on the Cannonball Run) and that would be right up my alley. I hate the Braves though. [

Sorry man, I've been meaning to e-mail you about that. They're having one in San Antonio that Sunday as well, which is where I will be. Maybe you can come down there? I heard they give between 8 and 14 runs there. I'm used to only 4. Should be some good practice.

Initial report:

The combo of the intake and the new pulley really give it quite a punch. The SOTP dyno says WOW! Although I've always liked my car quiet, I have to admit that the throaty sound coming from the engine when I punch it is euphoric. Still nice and quiet when I ease the throttle in though.

I might schedule a dyno for Friday to see what I've gained so far, but the real test will be once I get that new exhaust. Can't wait!
