I only have 1800 miles on my G, but I noticed the exhaust tips get fairly dirty (black) very quickly. [banghead]

Hand wash every week (needed or not).

Is the exhaust dirt always that quick to accumulate, or does it ease up in time? [?]

Anyone have any good cleaning methods they would like to share? [cheers]

You should clean them often so as not to let all of that sediment eat up the finish on the tips. However, it should ease up in time. As you stack the miles onto your car all of that carbon/etc. build up will also form inside of your exhaust and it tends to filter a lot of it out. However, I still think that you will find yourself cleaning them at least every 2-3 weeks.

My cleaning method: Zymol Soap and my little wash mit... works like a charm.

Yeah, all I do is once I've got the wet towel from drying the car after a wash I use it to clean the tips - works just fine. I never bother with inside.

I pretty much wipe 'em down at the end as well. I made the mistake of trying to clean the inside once. I had to throw my sponge away afterwards. [bigmouth]
