Just found this site -- great! I spend time on Freshalloy and G35driver and recognize some of the cars/posters. Looking forward to another source of information/discussion, although my wife is none to happy that I have more posts to read!

Anyway, here is a link to some pics of my car. Tint is 20% on door windows, 13% on back. It looks SWEEEET at night!

If anyone else here is from Oregon or Washington, drop me a note.

Peace.

Yes, it is. I looked at the photos closely (both my car and comparing mine to my buddy's BMW), and I could not tell a difference. Don't be fooled, though - in person, you CAN see it.

no - this was a custom install. They did the front bumper, head lights, hood, quarter panels, a-bars (above door windows) and both side mirrors. Believe it or not, some people get THE WHOLE CAR done, but I figured that was overkill (plus about $2,500)!

What is this whole clear bra thing? This is the second thread about it but I really don't know what it is, what it does, or why one would get it. I can only assume it is like one of those black covers you see on the very front of a lot of VW's and such. Could someone please embellish a bit?

Thanks.

It's a clear film that is applied over the cars finish to help protect against road chips, etc.

If you want to learn more go here:

hmmm, sounds/looks like a good deal.

couple of problems however. (1) I am curretnly in AZ (where it is not offered) and will prob. get my car in PA (where it is again, not offered) (2) How much does this run? (3) How does it look/feel to the touch?

If it's any consolation on the clear bra, I don't have one and I do have a nice little nick on my hood from a rock on the highway...

I also have white paint from some jackass on the passenger handle and I had a ding just behind the door from some chick at a bar the night I took ownership.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with some people...

dang!!! what horrible luck!

well first off, we live in phx, where the worst drivers known to man dwell. I heard a funny joke once comparing Phx and NYC drivers.

"Sure, New York City drivers are really bad, but at least they KNOW they are doing something wrong. In fact, they go brag about it, 'dude i cut off this car today...', whereas in Phoenix, people are just clueless."

weve had our car since 96 and we have one ding on the rear left passeng door, and then a scratch on the back bumper

This is true. The drivers here are generally mindless. However, they all tend to speed which keeps them out of my way most of the time. For that I can forgive most things.

Which in turn depends on how much you are speeding by. Which is hard to tell having just bought a new coupe. Unless you keep it under 20 MPG err MPH like grandma =) but I doubt that.[:D]

Ha Ha. Very funny.

So long as there is an odd number of gaps equally proportioned, I have great luck with cutting off whole packs of traffic.

arent we all? actually - how true that is. if we own g35c's or desire to own g35c's then we are certainly not typical. here i go, all profound and philosophical. I'm stopping. School is over for another 9 hours...oh man only 9 hours left -- ahh. [xx(]

I am in the same boat as tmartin. I don't live anywhere near a clear bra dealership. Being from South Carolina, I want to find something to protect my car from all of the pickup trucks with Bigfoot tires on them. Does anyone know of another company that does this?

I'm not positive, but I heard that some dealers do a similar thing to the clear bra idea, and others sell bras that are not clear if you want to go that route, but I don't think that I would.
