Anyone heard of rumors, etc. regarding development of a convertible version of the G35 coupe? IMHO, if executed properly, that might be the perfect car. Was thinking about the choice between a convertible sports car (MR2, Miata, etc.) and/or a sport sedan (don't ask why), and a G convertible would be the perfect solution. I bet they'd sell every one and have a waiting list to boot.

I haven't heard any rumors BUT they do have a convertible 350Z coming out...so give it some more time and I am sure they will have a G35 convertible out in the near future. Personally I am not a convertible guy...

I've heard the rumors but nothing close to confirmation. The Z has more or less been confirmed and it seems like a no brainer to compete against Merc, BMW and Audi.

Definite photochop of this pic. I'm not sure if we'll see a convertable G. Z is on it's way, but I'm not sure about the G.

Thanks for the replies -- not only would a car like that steal sales from Merc, Audi, BMW, etc., but I know a few 'Vette convertible drivers that would take 20 less hp, 2 more seats, shorter overhangs, and a far superior interior for probably $10-$15k less than a comparable Vette.

By the way, the wife is now longing for an FX35. This would be a radical shift from the current minivan, and it would be difficult to bring myself to throw bags of mulch in the back of an FX. But hey, maybe she wants to use it to pick up guys, not mulch.

Is that an OEM convertible G, or a chop shop G? [hammer]

neither. It's creative use of PhotoShop.

Very interesting. By the looks though, I think I would still keep the hard coupe. Then again, I've never been a convertible person...

Rumors and it will not be happening.
The 350Z conv is the only one that Nissan/Infiniti will be making but there was a dealership that took ten coupes and chopped them with a real hard top convertable ala Lexus.
They all had custom paint jobs and pre-orders with $10G non-refundable deposits.
Oh the price, I am sorry [:I] $75,000 each [bowdown]

If you have the money, I guess anything is possible [bigeyes][angel]

If enough people would be willing to put the money down [angel]maybe it can be done again but it was not and will not be under warranty by the factory. So that is something to consider [boxing]

Personally I love the hard top coupe but I can't wit for the new 2005 Skyline R35 oooops did I say that (skyline R35 in 2005 shhhh[bigmouth])
