You do get it hand washed at the car wash right sandking??? Those car wash machienes are like torture chambers!! I got my mirror knocked off at the car wash. I'll never do that again. Heres a picture.

They paid for it, and gave me 5 free hand washes.

Damn! I've seen the carwash place, but I can't remember where it's at.

If I need the car washed without the time to do it, I go to University Car Wash on Bryant Irvin in SW Fort Worth. They do a great job, I've never been able to find scratches resulting from washing there and I've been going for 3 years now.

They also have a hand-wax option, $45 for a wash and hand-wax. Done in about 45mins, although the wax is marginal (Blue Coral).

I'm already a Lexol user for the Leather, I debated the Plastic/Vinyl cleaner. Cleaning a black interior is not easy, just like keeping a black exterior clean is not easy. I'll try the Lexol when it comes to it, until then I'll use a lightly damp cloth to catch the dust.

Thanks!

Kalmairn: I use ArmorAll Cleaning Wipes for the black vinyl which give the dash that exact factory look without any glares on the windshield. I also bought a set of micro fiber towels for a quick wipe in between heavy detailing. I highly recommend both of these...

I've heard bad stories about Armorall. It has ben discussed in great detail on this forum. I'm sure you can find it if you do a search.

I'm not a big fan of ArmorAll myself, I never really liked the smell it left in the car nor do I like the tendency to attract dust.

Lexol it is, I think.

I am with you guys on being anti-armorall... but their only good product IMO is those cleaning wipes. I have been using them ever since I bought my car in Feb. Oh and they have no scent whatsoever. I use them for all the vinyl and the middle console (Basically everything except the glass and the leather).

Questions for those who use lexol on their leather:
<ul>[*]Do you guys buy both the cleaner and the conditioner or just one?[*]I saw lexol leather cleaning wipes and also conditioning wipes... Should I get those instead of the spray? If the wipes work the same, then I'd rather get those instead.[*]Do the lexol leave your seats looking like factory or oily with a moisturized look? I prefer the factory look.[/list]

I use both on seating surfaces and any other surface that doesn't see direct hand contact (steering wheel/shift knob). Those place I just use the cleaner with the occasional conditioning.

The wipes don't cover a large area, unfortunately. I keep them on-hand so when my son makes a mess I can clean it up, otherwise I use the spray bottles.

The conditioner leaves the leather looking a little richer than the factory delivered colors, much like a wax will do for paint. Once you work it a bit there is no residue left over.

I do 3 different things:
1) I keep a microfiber towel in the door-storage-hole-thing and dust the dash & console every few days
2) I use Eimann-Fabrik plastic & vinyl protectant on the vinyl & plastic (including the headlights and brakelights) every month
3) I use Zymol leather cleaner and conditioner on all leather (seats, wheel, shift knob, etc) every couple months. I spray the cleaner on, then buff it off with a towel and apply the conditioner by hand. I just let the conditioner soak in and after a few hours it's not even wet.

I think I'll use Lexol when my Zymol runs out just because so many people recommend it. The Eimann-Fabrik stuff is pretty great--it makes the dash look clean without being glossy. But the best thing you can do is use a microfiber to keep the interior clean. It picks up dust, dirt, and other particles very easily and you can just toss it in the wash every couple weeks.

What does everyone use to clean the interior surfaces? I'm going to try to clean it all out this weekend and was looking for some suggestions.

I have been using steam cleaning for a long time and always listen to the advice of professionals. I liked cleaning the car with a steam cleaner for two reasons: it is easy to use because of the clear interface and it is effective in cleaning even the oldest dirt. When choosing a steam cleaner, be careful because it is important. choose the one you need in terms of power and dimensions, pay attention to whether there are nozzles. See the reviews, I recently wanted to take the Optima steam cleaner model and changed my mind after a review from specialists Do not buy the Optima steamer before reading this which included all the pros and cons of this device are shown.
