I saw several threads on brakes gone at 10-15k, and i read in the service manual about burnishing the brake, should one burnish their brake on their new g35 to try and extend the brake life?

What exactly is burnishing the brakes?

Hard stops from a good speed about 10 times in a row with a few minutes in between. It's good for killing squeeks, but I doubt it would extend the life of the Brembos by anything. Supposedly, it cleans the surface of the rotor, heats the surface of the pads to remove any glazed build-up, and transfers some of the pad material onto the surface of the rotor for higher friction between the pad and rotor.

The short time between pad replacements is what I expected to a large degree. Welcome to the world of sports brakes. All that brake dust your Brembos are throwing off has to come from somewhere...
