hi guys, i have 2012 g37 coupe which was in an accident and the driver steering air bag was deployed. i am replacing the air bag assembly and have the air bag module reset. the front impact sensor was not damaged in the accident and i am reading online on some web site that these sensors do reset on their own. does anybody know if they do or do they have to be replaced? thank you in advance.

Sorry , that's over my head on answering. How would you know the sensor is not damaged or "okay".

I'm not too certain I'd risk safety related parts like that but I suspect the sensor is horrendously expense or hard to get ?
I'd be afraid a future incident could put anyone in the car at risk and would not want that liability.

Can you research the source you read about it online or the website?

thanks for the reply, am putting a new one in.
Sounds like the safest option. Thanks for getting back to the post!
Let us know how difficult or expensive it is and how or where you sourced the sensor.
Others here may likely benefit with info any of those details at some point in the future.
