That's just a common design que in modern sports design. You can see the same thing in a lot of cars, several of which predate the G.

From these pictures, this at least looks less gay than the new 3 and 5 shots that gavriil has found us. However, it doesn't particularly excite me either.

If the 8 series was meant to be the replacement for the original 6 then the new 6 is a replacement for both the original and the 8. This hardly seems to accomplish that. It just doesn't excite me.

My biggest complaint about the beamer coupes now is that they look too much like just smaller versions of the sedans. I think this is a move in the right direction... at least for me. Like the more sporty styling.

I think the pics wont do it justice.
Just like the G35 the pictures dont
compliment it as much as when you see it
for yourself up close.
