It was around 90 today. Then it stormed like crazy. But that summer as usual.

lol

I think we had 90 today ..... took brother in law and mom in law to Spruce mtn open space for some hiking and they kicked butt. Flat-landers up there at 7000 + elevation hiking up some trails to a 400 foot over look plateau. I had worked the nightshift (bachFriday) so I was pooped out.

We have had high pressure over us the last few days and it has been hotter than Bach and 14c in thongs together. It was 102 on the drive home yesterday.

Wow ,,, hard to imagine that heat not having experienced it much if ever ......

I am thankful for the for the dry air we have here but even 30% humidity feels heavy once you have lived in a dryer climate for a while.

Here is a picture from the hike yesterday morning- Mother in-law along the ridge at Spruce open space.
Don't get any ideas Gilley !!

Sounds like a nice hike.

I've been in Vegas when it was 114 with 125 heat index. Dry heat is still hot at that temperature.

The humidity here kills me. I was standing outside watching fireworks and had to take a shower afterwards. I wasn't even doing any physical activity.

Impressive clouds , rain hail and wind all through here around 4pm for about one hour. Temp dropped 15* in ten minutes.
Been sunny and clear for an hour now and about 73 degrees (from a low of 55).

Guessing our official temp Saturday was 96 or so but not sure yet. I noticed 94 at the house at one point but on the north end, we are rarely as warm as listed high for town.

Your highs were about the same as ours. However, cots been common for the thermometer on the car to read 98-103.

I feel like my car has a tendency to let a ton of heat soak through the firewall, not sure if this is just me or what, but damn does it get sweaty on hot days.

Default Pointless Weather updates

The news is frenzied again about a big storm out this way and no doubt, somebody will get some moisture.
Denver is warning (since Weds or Thurs) of 6 -10 " maybe up to a foot of snow. It'll be wet and heavy so tree branches may be an issue.

Here in C/S, 4 to 8 " but it's come in a bit later than expected and so far, our temps and ground temp has it looking pretty mild. Will def know more by late morning or Sat night.

We've had a strong pattern of rains on/of over the past week. Need it for sure but I forget what a pain it is to make or change plans when outside activity is so taken for granted.

Winter Storm Warning in Northeastern Colorado
Active for next 18 hours National Weather Service
This alert has been updated.
Posted 8 hours ago
AREAS OF HEAVY SNOW TONIGHT...

.A Spring storm system will bring snow to eastern Colorado tonight into Saturday. Periods of heavy snow are expected from the Front Range foothills across the Denver metro area and Palmer Divide and into southeastern Colorado and western Kansas. Further north the snow will be lighter, but several inches of wet snow are expected. Roads will become snow covered during the periods of heavier snow. Wet snow accumulating on trees that have already leafed out may also result in broken tree limbs and scattered power outages.

The snow will end from northwest to southeast on Saturday. There is some uncertainty on the speed the storm will exit, so heavier snow is possible on the eastern plains if the storm moves more slowly.

WINTER Storm Warning REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MDT SATURDAY...

Timing: Widespread snow will develop by early evening. Periods of heavy snow are likely during the night. Lighter snow will continue on Saturday but road conditions should be improving.
Snow accumulations: 6 to 12 inches. The heaviest amounts will likely be in the southern part of the Denver metro area.
WIND/VISIBILITY...North winds 15 to 25 mph east of Interstate 25. Visibility may be reduced to a half mile or less in the heavier snow showers tonight.
IMPACTS: Wet snow may accumulate on already leafed out trees, resulting in broken tree limbs and scattered power outages. Some roads will become snow and slush covered tonight during the heavier snow showers. Road conditions should improve during the day Saturday.

We have rain coming today. I don't normally wish for rain but we have been in a real dry spell.

Just back from a trip over to Michigan where it was warm to hot the last few days and nice most of the week.
My wife said it was in the 80's here in CS too for the past few days. Was 65 at 4pm when I got into Denver International and today, woke up to winds, snow and slush. Rest of the outlook for the next 3 - 4 weeks looks like summer is being delivered. 60's 70's and 80's.

Here's a fresh shot of the back yard and a lazy dog on her her new bed (Shelby).
