2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe Gets Turbocharged

Quote:

Infiniti is finally introducing a new sports coupe, the 2017 Q60, which made its global debut at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show.

Lower and wider than its predecessors, the new Q60 measures 184.4 inches in length and sits on a 112.2-inch wheelbase. It wears a familiar Infiniti face up front, heavily influenced by the Q50. The side profile remains reminiscent of G Coupe, with the addition of standard 19-inch wheels or optional 20-inch wheels.

The biggest news is that it’s ditching big, naturally aspirated V6 engines in favor of two different turbocharged units available with three levels of power. Entry-level Q60s will come with 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Next up the performance ladder is a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 producing 300 hp and 295 lb-ft. Topping the range with be another 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engine, but this one unleashes 400 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque.

Overall, looks good but it's a bit Mazda-ish with the big, tall front end and grill. The chrome window and grill trim would have to be matte black on mine. The seats look superb.

Looks great but why introduce a turbo with the entry level V6 and have the same hp output as the VQ from like 11 years ago??

Sad to hear that Infiniti is ditching the manual transmission option in the Coupe. I don't see myself ever owning an Auto
