While European automakers initially ignored hybrid technology, it seems as though the craze has finally caught on, with everyone from Ferrari to Porsche announcing hybrid models of one kind or another. Ferrari will debut a 599 Hybrid concept, while Porsche will show the GT3 R Hybrid race car and a hybrid version of the 2011 Cayenne.
Porsche's new parent company, Volkswagen, also has plenty of hybrid news. VW will showcase its new Touareg SUV, with a hybrid version. In addition, another VW-brand company, Audi, will show off a hybrid version of its new A8. Other hybrids include the Lotus Evora 414E Hybrid and the Lexus CT200h hybrid.
Other show highlights are sure to include a new high-performance version of the Lamborghini Gallardo, referred to as either the LP57-4 SuperVeloce or the LP570-4 Superleggera, as well as Audi's new RS5. Plus, Mercedes-tuner Carlsson is debuting its new C25, an SL65-based supercar while VW/Audi-tuner ABT Sportsline is showing-off a 600-hp Audi R8 GTR, an R8 Spyder, A8 and a modified Volkswagen Golf R.

Thanks for participating in our community. We pride ourselves in being very casual and laid back, but here are a few things we think are worth mentioning:
Be respectful of others. No, this doesn't mean you can't argue and debate with each other (what good is a forum if you can't do that?), but it should not deteriorate into name-calling and pointless arguments that go nowhere. Racial attacks will not be tolerated.
Stay on topic. People generally choose to read a topic based on its subject line, so keep the conversation related. If you absolutely must talk about something other than the original topic, start a new thread (provided that it still within the subject of the forum). Please keep "off topic" threads confined to the "Totally Off Topic" forum. Threads that get out of hand will be locked.
Don't post just to increase your post count (Post Whoring). We want everyone to participate in the discussion, but do it in a meaningful way. Short replies like "I agree", "ha ha! that's funny!", "+1" don't really contribute. Threads that get out of hand will be locked.
No Spam. It will be deleted, and repeat offenders will be banned.
No Nudity. Many of our users read the forum when they're at work and we want to make sure it's possible for them to do continue to do that. Please use common sense when posting images. If you absolutely must share images of a questionable nature, use PM, email or hide the image behind a link.
Bringing up past threads. If you have done a search and an old thread has come up with the type of information you were looking for, please use discretion when bringing the thread back up again. If you have a question that does not directly relate to the old thread, please create a new thread.

FIA GT1 Nissan GT-Rs from Sumo Power GT and Swiss Racing Team Unveiled |

2010 will mark the beginning of a new era of racing. GT racing goes global with 20 races spanning nine countries across four continents on ten of the world's leading circuits. Only six manufacturers will compete in the inaugural season of the FIA GT1 World Championship with Nissan being the sole representative from the Land of the Rising Sun. They will be campaigning a quartet of similarly-built GT-Rs, a pair from Sumo Power GT (#22, #23) and the other two from Swiss Racing Team (#3, #4). Drivers Peter Dumbreck and Michael Krumm, for the Sumo Power GT GT-R, and Karl Wendlinger, multiple FIA GT race-winner and driver for Swiss Racing Team were present at the press conference held at the Automobile Club de France in Paris. "I have been racing in the FIA GT Championship for many years, but now I'm very excited about the new world championship – and very happy to be driving the Nissan GT-R," said Wendlinger.
We're not surprised that Nissan would be the only bold manufacturer from Japan to campaign in the FIA GT1 World Championship. With all the accolades and accomplishments the GT-R has already received worldwide, a FIA GT1 World Championship would immortalize the GT-R moniker and cement it as one of the world's finest piece of machinery. Stiff competition will be coming with entries from Aston Martin, Corvette, Ford, Lamborghini and Maserati.
Specs for the vehicles according to the FIA GT1 World Championship website declares a minimum weight of 1250kg and a maximum horsepower of 600. With a maximum horsepower imposed as FIA GT1 regulations, Nissan opted for a 5.6L V8 engine that hits the mark of 600 hp with 480 ft-lbs of torque.
