I've seen several coupes around town with the same stock wheels that come on the 6MT and the Premium 5AT but in chrome instead of the flat finish. I liked the look quite a bit and was curious if anyone was familiar with the costs involved. I assume the dealership did this of their own accord to sell as an option but I also assume they'll charge me an arm and a leg to do it through them.
Is it dealer or factory? I've asked this question before, but I don't have time to search for it.

I'm not aware of the factory offering chrome versions so I can only assume the dealer has had it done.
I remember now. I think the wording just confused me."Factory chrome rims". I couldn't find the post where I asked the guy about his chrome rims, but I think I remember him saying that it's a dealer add on that brings the price up another $2500 or so. I could be wrong on the price, it was a pretty long time ago.
I'd like to know myself, because they look [pimp].

When I Purchased my coupe it came w/ the aluminum 18" rims but I got the chrome rim's w/ the purchase but i had to pick them up at the dealer the next week. When I got there it was packed in a box. SO im assumming that they are factory wheels and the sales person told me they are powder coated. The price on the rim itself, if purchased by piece cost about $700-800, i got that from a dealership. Hope that helps.
Well, that's kind of where I'm going with this. That's about the price of the wheels when they aren't powder coated from the dealer. I'm assuming the actual chroming process isn't that expensive and I already own the wheels as I have a 6MT.
My dealer offered to have my rims chromed for about $1000. Personally, I like the stock gunmetal finish so I politely declined. [^] But evidently the dealerships are getting them done through a third party.

Thanks, vega. That gives me a good idea of how much the dealer will charge. I'll do some calling around this weekend and see how much a seperate company will charge.
I still have the rims...Im currently negotiating a trade w/ another guy for the aluminum rims plus $1700 for the chrome rims. If you want to trade still please make an offer because the other guy is in Salinas, CA and is going to come down if i want to trade by next week. Where are you located?"
I sent a guy an email who said he was trading. This was his reply.

Wheel specialists thinks they can do it for $850. If they have to plate mine, it will take 4-5 weeks. However, if they can find some wheels already done, it will cost the same but will be significantly easier. We'll see...
