Feeler: Considering selling tarnished VOLKS sf challenges
I'm trying to see if anyone out there would want to buy a set of rims that they would need to refinished. Heres the story.
My local dealer that I will never go to again (Metro Infiniti in Monrovia, CA) used something on them and gave them the discolored tint from the clear coat, and is claiming that it did not happen at their dealership. I know for a fact that it did, because no one else is ever in care of the car but me and them, but they are still denying it. The lip was silver polished when I brought the car in, and discolored when I picked the car up. Still they deny it. Not only that, their service manager began to lie to me just to get me out of the dealership, saying that there are factory rims that are clearcoated and there is a TSB saying they can't use anything on them, when in fact the TSB says they are titanium coated and only aluminum cleaner can be used on them. If you use this dealership for your service, this is the kind of person that runs it.
That being said, all four of my 19" volk SF challenges, 8.5 " front 9.5" rears, in silver need to have the polished lip refinished. They have Toyo TS1's on them and have been used for 7 months, about 8000 miles on the tires. I just don't want to deal with taking them to get refinished and was considering selling them off as fixer uppers for someone who wanted to do it. I don't know if its still hard to find these wheels, but I remember going thru great trouble finding these wheels and if someone out there really wanted them, here may be your chance.
