this car is a bargain plain and simple. 7:15 - 7:37 lap time for around 57- 85k (depending on model).

thats cheap for what you get. think about the other cars lapping that and the prices they cost.

bargain, plus it looks great.

did you see it dominating that m5? crazy

hahaha, what happened to this thread, superdude you raped it with pictures. nice work. i didn't know you were sitting on so many pics!! anyway, yeah it overtook that m5 easily. don't know how hard that m5 was going but i'm sure he wasn't going to let the gt-r pass too easily.

IMO i think the car looks pretty nice. I do think that the vspec and evo are a little racer-ish, but that's the whole point. yeah it's easy to spend fake money but there's no doubt you are getting quite the bang for the buck. I do think that Nissan/Infiniti are going to hit a little hump with the whole branding issue, but if the car is a super performer and it gets good reviews from car and driver I think the car will do OK. I don't doubt there are challenges ahead but a good car is a good car, regardless of brand.

Would I spend 60K on a nissan? hell yeah if it was a good & reliable car. Would I spend 60K on a nissan that's a piece of junk, hell no. I think a lot of it will boil down to quality.

the main difference b/w the standard and v spec is transmission, wheels, and spoiler. DSG tranny is nice, but wont handle mods.

I would go for the standard version based on "moddability" alone.

If they spend that much on a base C6 then why wouldn't JDM fans not do it on this car? You get a lot more car than the base C6. I don't know about the Z06, but you get a better interior and all around better car than most cars at the price. Btw, Super don't tell them about the Infiniti

it comes down to disposable income. typically, JDM fans do not have as much resource as the vette fan. i'm not saying none of these cars will sell, but they're not gonna be flying off the shelves IMO!
i'd like to see it cleaned up and rounded out a bit and marketed as an infiniti. but that's just me

no i like the 37. wasn't a huge fan at first sight but now i like it.
kind of the opposite for this car. i first saw the spy shots a few months ago on another website. everyone was bashing it and i thought it looked OK. now that i see more pics, it just doesn't do it for me.

looks too much like a nissan to me. and it's already been gone over on this site that america thinks of nissan as cheap. yah, we know how impressive it does on the track but lap time doesn't sell cars over here

funny, most people consider Toyota to be inexpensive and they're #2 in sales in the US. They're giving the American boys a huge run for their money.

And our car is a Nissan, just with an Infiniti logo, BFD.

Lap time may not sell well, but 0 to 60 numbers do very good here in the states. The Z06 is proof of that.

certainly. i did not say it won't sell b/c nissan has low sales figures, but rather because it is a $100,000 Nissan.

i am aware. but do you think our cars would sell as well if it were badged nissan, and all other things remained the same (including the price)?

definitely. the gtr has a fighting chance. but part of corvette's selling point is it's long history and influence over american culture. a lot of vette owners are middle aged or older (over 40) who have loved the corvette their whole lives.

i'm not bashing this car, it's obviously going to be a great performer. but i am willing to bet it will flop in the US market.

^^^You giving odds on that? I'll take that bet!

I thought the GTR was going to be in the $65k to $70K range

And yes, I think the G35 would of done well if it had Nissan Skyline 350GT badging. Would it of done as well though? Very speculative, but maybe not as well.

i think the base is supposed to start at 60. but i'm interested to find out what that means. 'base' to nissan is usually pretty scary.

nahhh not even close. i think that maximas are every bit as nice as our cars if not better. but you never hear people say... oh wow you drive a maxima? we've been over this name brand obsession that americans have. it's all about status.

now its 58 - 85 range. 58 for the standard, 65 - 70 for the v spec, 85 for the evo spec.

now too bad, considering this car is smoking everything on the ring.

well actually.

all 3 models will have same interior, the difference will be in parts. We dont know anything about options yet.

The difference is aero, transmssion, wheels, weight and tranny in the case of the evo spec.

Standard - heavier wheels, 6 Speed

V Spec - lighter wheels, DSG tranny, Some differences in Aero (spoiler, diffisuer etc)

Evo - Lighter wheels, lighter tranny, track modified tranny, No rear seats, DSG, carbon galore, Aero extremely different as the pics will tell you.

Based on that, there will be no difference in interior. There will be options, but we dont know this. When there was interior shots, it was the same, with exception of shifter location and seats. Check out the pics for comparisn i posted on the first page.

So being a base model isnt a bad thing at all. Better for tuning and increasing the hp
