Default Insider Report Nissan vs Infiniti

Alot has been discussed in this forum about the upcomming skyline AKA the infiniti G35 06-07 coupe. Well, i was reading an email from a friend in japan where he said the Next Skyline will be released as a Nissan. It will be a bit identical to the G35 coupe but it will have a different engine. He says it will sport a twin turbo VQ30DETT which will be pushing something around 415-500hp. He also says nissan is going to retire the RB gen engine and upgrade the skyline with the newest VQ engine. Take it as the new RB30DETT but different.

Different models will be sold, a Non-turbo version which will sell for about 25k a single turbo version for 27k a Luxury version (AKA Infiniti G35) which will remain at 30-34k and the GTR which will be sold for 38-40k.

I cant wait untill they come out, but the thing is i dont know if its true, but he does work for nissan.

Uhhhh.......Nissan has the Skyline (G35) already released in Japan as the Skyline 350GT coupe. They also have a standard 2.5L engine for the car with ours as the option as the 350GT version.

While the GTR may eventually end up looking like the current G coupes, the chassis will (better) be significantly different with all the time Lotus will have had the car.

I think your friend's guesses on the pricing is way off however. Those prices are cheaper than what we have now (look at the 05's where they deleted the Brembos and actually increased the car pricing). Car manufacturers are not going to reduce the pricing on their cars. The GTR R34's I think retailed in Japan in 2000 for something like $50k. There is no way a GTR V36 would be (V35 if it's sharing the current V35 platform) cheaper than our current cars.
