Default Vacuum for detailing interior

OK, I'm looking around for a vacuum to use to detail the interior of the car. What do you guys recommend?

I'm looking for something small enough to use on the car, no battery-powered junk, attachments for reaching the crevices of our cars, etc....

What's good?

I use a Shark Vac ... small and strong enough for my needs.

I second the Shark vac...I bought the smaller 'convertible' one not too long ago and it now replaces my full-size upright because it works better and it is works very well in the car too.

OK so here's Target's description of the Shark Vac:

As Seen on TV. With a powerful two-motor system, the Shark Lightweight Bagless Upright Vac not only deep cleans your carpet it helps to purify your air too. The TapClean dust cup filter traps 99.97% of household air impurities and rinses clean. And if you need a replacement filter, it's free. Compact and easy to move from room to room, this powerful vacuum is great for extended-reach cleaning, and includes a deluxe stretch hose and far-reaching cleaning wand. Imported. 45-1/2Hx8-1/2Wx11-1/4L".

I'm assuming the wand is small enough to use on the interior and the hose long enough so that I can reach around inside too? I just want to make sure you can manuver that critter (cleaning wand) around on the inside of the car.

Also should I be worried that 5 of the 8 reviews give this thing a 1 star rating?

I use the Stinger Wet/Dry Vac . It does a good job, it's light and easy to clean.

Default vacuum

I use a Dustbuster Scorpion. I have a towel in the passenger footwell and kick off my shoes when I drive so not much crap gets in the car. I also use armor all interior wipes (cleaner) for the non-leather trim, they work really well. Lexol for the leather. Water and terry cloth for the windows. That's it! Thought about getting a shark but that would make 3 compact vacuums I own! LOL!

I second that. My regular vaccuum attachements work just fine for the car.

i tried out the shark vacs at the department stores and they seem pretty weak, about the same amount of power as a dust buster...

+1 on the Shop Vac...sits in the garage though, not in the trunk but very useful (I don't ever stress out over the need to vacuum the car when I'm not at home, so not having one with me at all times isn't really necessary).

+1, just vacuum when I wash the car usually, unless something makes a mess.
