i did vegas for this past new years eve and it was waaay to crowded and over 200 fights and countless arrests. in so cal i've tried disneyland (just a fancy fireworks show and some G-rated bands) and universal city walk (lots of people, lots of music, not bad). i'm thinking of trying a sunset blvd type of thing this year...just to see how it is.

San Diego has some of the best West Coast NYE parties. When I lived there I remember the downtown one by the Hyatt with lots of bands and fun. I think it was called West Coast NYE (something). There is another newer one @ Qualcomm as well:

Have fun and be safe.

One word-- Standard Downtown.

Don't worry it makes sense.

What do you mean standard downtown? I don't wanna end up in a downtown club with overpriced cover and drinks and so many people you can't turn around within hitting someoene
I tried that 2 years ago.. After waiting at the bar for 25 minutes to get 1 lousy drink, I decided that NYE at a club is a very bad idea !
I was asking about parties that you guys are going to

It's The Standard only downtown. Better view. For dinner try the Fenix at the Argyle Hotel on Sunset. Good view as well. Won't be "packed" for dinner but it will be full. What both places have in common are: Your room is only a few floors away, very attractive upwardly mobile hot bitches in very skimpy outfits and Ferrari's, Porsche's and maybe even a Lambo parked out front.

On New Year's Eve... I think LA would would it ...unless there's something better in SD then definitely let us know...we'll go down there instead.

I know the QueenMary has a nice one but it's mostly a "couple's" thing. not the single atmoshpere.
