I just got screwed w/ my mobile-mobile cause the guy at the ATT store set up my plan incorrectly. I upgraded my plan and added an additional line. Ended up getting charged $200+ each on two phones..

I work for a special team that resolve all issues that can't be solved. ie) escaltion type mainly... AT&T...and now Cingular is actually a really great company..I'm sorry to hear about your experince...if you want...I can look into your acct and fix the problem. I do not need to fill any forms..etc...I'll fix the entire acct and make sure you plans are correct and credit you back anything you were charge incorrectly. Email me if you want me to help you.
Okay sorry guys...but I got more info today so I'm update you all a bit... looks like you got heads up on something that only internal employees know. No one (meaning customers and competitors know about "DAY 1") We are dropping the bomb on everyone... The GOOD NEWS ..is that rates plans will be SO GOOD YOU CAN'T PASS UP. I honestly don't know what it will be right now...they will tell us on Sunday. (this is prevent any potential competition) So Don't worry anymore. The Bad news is that if you want the new plans..you'll have to either purchase a new phone or extend contracts.
Anyhow to answers the questions... SunCom is an affilate of AT&T Wireless..But after the Merge, they are not. But you should be able to get Cingular service there Jay.
Don..you can keep your current rate plans... All customers have the options to keep what they have...so you only wanna upgrade to the new ones if it's better than yours. Don't worry...with us as one company...you will have the best service.
FF... Verizon boose the biggest coverage...it's not true anymore..they're scared shitless right now. After NOV 15, Cingular will be the #1 wireless...AT&T + Cingular combined owns 97% of the market. You will see improvements within the next 2 weeks.
Beanie...to be honest...you should stay with Cingular. Cuz it will only get better.
AS of NOV 4... All calls between AT&T and Cingular customers are considered MOBILE TO MOBILE. So if you have unlimited...you now have 46 MILLION people in your M2M network!!!!
OK, not sure how many of you guys have seen our new ads... But it's focusing on the MERGE... They kept AT&T "blue" color (notice now that the Cinglar word in the logo is BLUE not orange anymore) And they took AT&T "Bar Strength" logo... and slap on the new saying " Rasing the Bar " .
Anyhow... They will become the biggest and best wireless provider. Verizon was number #1, but not anymore... Verizon's network is CDMA...(digital) only. Verizon do NOT have any GSM serivices at all. As for T-mobile...they are going off Cingular's old cell sites that they bought after Cingular aquired AT&T (sold off all overlapping sites) Nextel and Sprint...are not Nationwide coverage.
Cingular and AT&T alone was not all that... but combined... they are the best. AT&T is the only company that has EDGE technology (already in Europe/Japan) which allows video streamline..etc. Basically There's GSM then there's EDGE which is better than GSM. So now Cingular will be the only company to launch EDGE so of course Verizon is scared because they have no GSM at all. EDGE will launch in mid to late 2005. Then there's UTMS which will be even better than EDGE.
All I can say is ...hold off on buying any new service til after NOV 15 then decide for yourself. At first I thought we were gonna be screwed but I was looking at the old/current plans...NO ONE knows what the new plans will be yet. And I'm only gonna guess it will be really good because they plan on winning a lot of new customers.
I don't doubt that Verizon is scared of this whole 'merge'. No one really knows what it's outcome will be, looking at things from now, it can only be good once it's all done. I bet thats why Verizon is launching EVDO, competition.
Means Evolution Data Only.
You can read some stuff about it here.
"The technology, known as EvDO (Evolution Data Only), provides wireless data connections that are 10 times as fast as a regular modem. Proponents say EvDO offers huge advantages over WiFi, another wireless data technology that is popping up around the country in hotel lobbies and coffee shops, and that it may even be the long sought path around local telephone and cable companies' lock on the high-speed Internet market in most residential areas.
But after learning some hard lessons in the last few years, the U.S. wireless industry is skittish about investing heavily in anything that does not have immediate promise of improving its bottom line.
EvDO would require wireless companies to spend billions of dollars to buy additional spectrum and update every cell tower in their networks with new software. But the industry is still smarting from the failure of other once promising wireless technologies: In Europe, "3G" (third generation) technologies were supposed to transform the economy, turning cell phones into mini-entertainment centers, but reality failed to live up to the hype.
Despite the expense and concerns about market demand for EvDO, it is already gaining a toehold in other countries and even in some small U.S. cities. It has been widely rolled out in South Korea, and Monet Mobile Networks Inc., a company based in Kirkland, Wash., launched EvDO networks last October in seven midwestern markets, including Sioux City, Iowa, and Grand Forks, N.D.
In addition to being far faster than WiFi, EvDO can work over existing cell phone networks and deliver a connection anywhere there is a mobile phone signal. In contrast, WiFi users must be within 300 feet or so of a base station or "hot spot."
Verizon Wireless executives say they were impressed by EvDO in market tests using Lucent's technology in the Washington area. Nortel Networks Ltd. equipment is also being tested in San Diego."
yah I just heard about this on the news...it'll still take them a long time...we already got the GSM and most of Edge built!
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></font id="quote">
Nah, actually it's already launched in San Diego, and from what i was told it just got launched in Orange County about 2 weeks ago.[:P]
That article is dated from Thursday, January 23, 2003.[]
