Default If Kerry wins....

I am going to get a huge tax break! I have decided to lower my income and pay a lot less tax. In the next year my home will be paid for, all of my cars except for my Vette will be paid for. I will be able to get by with a lot less than I make now. I will take a four year vacation, maybe even see if I can get food stamps and an earned income credit check.

It will be great!

Well, if you look at historical data, it's going to be Kerry who wins. You can thank Brett Favre and the rest of the Packers for that... Don't know what I'm talking about? http://www.snopes.com/sports/football/election.asp

Scary, scary shit.

Sounds like a great plan! Pay for you food with stamps then drive away in your vette...[]

Must... fight... urge... to post...

Actually I don't disagree with you guys, but I'm betting that you've never been poor. Some people actually need the help, but unfortunately the number of people that abuse the system is ridiculous. Kinda like lawyers and frivolous lawsuits.

I had just gotten out of 1.5 years of juvenile lock up and had NOTHING. No car, no money, no place to live (except the goodness of an old friend) no job, no family to help me, no personal belongings and no high school diploma. That was August 25th 1999.

Now I own two houses, two cars (one being the G), 6 figure income from my work as a mortgage broker and real estate agent, retirement contributions, and a bunch of fun belongings.

I've been there, done that and come out the other end. And even though my life still confronts me with obstacles I will continue being succuessful. The reason...HARD WORK and DETERMINATION.

True enough, but are you saying that no one anywhere should be entitled to a welfare benefit?

Too many people know how to work and abuse the system. Some people do deserve welfare, but there are alot of people who manipulate the system to their advantage.

Not a clear cut answer to this one, just like everything else with the system/politics. I will also preface this by saying I don't have an intricate working knowledge of the welfare system.

However some people just don't get it (it refers to life in general)and are lazy. Giving somebody like this a handout does nothing but continue the cycle furthering the burden on the rest of society.

That is definitely not the case for everyone though and there does need to be some type of program for the people who don't fit the mold. Even in this case I do not believe in handouts. Why not have them do something productive for society in return for help/money?

Another question that has to be considered is how would this work for single mothers. I'm still working on this one as this is also an area that is greatly abused. For example- can't work because you have to take care of the child. Doesn't have to work because you can take care of a child and recieve "benefits". Once they get old enough, you just have another.

What I DO KNOW is that if a person does not know the value of working hard there is no way a handout will teach them how to better themself on their own. Once again not saying this for every case but if you look at the most fundamental theory of life for anmimal and man it is survival of the fittest. How is this any different?

Any thoughts?

Many Progressive/Liberal drug dealers and/or hookers will be quite happy to take Food Stamps in return for goods and services provided. Liquidity should improve in a Kerry win...

I pretty much agree with you on all fronts, especially that it is a self perpetuating system.

A single working mother who has lost her job should be entitled to assistance.

A single mother who has never worked a day in her life should be entitled to limited assistance while she gets an edjucation which would lead to her contributing to society.

Also deadbeat fathers should be more actively pursued to live up to their responsibility, but I'm really not all that sure how you could effectively implement that.

I think that the conservative drug dealers would be ok with it as well. I'm pretty sure that republican hookers do not accept foodstamps however.[]
