Oh well... we need it, we're gonna pay for it. People bitch about 2.50 a gallon but will walk into that same gas station and purchase 20 ounces of filtered tap water from aquafina for 99 cents and not even think twice about it. That works out to about $6.34 a gallon for tap water. Go figure...

(from another gas griping thread).

I'm not saying that I look forward to dumping in 17 gallons of 91 octane in my G all the time but damn... why doesn't anyone complain about everything subject to inflation. Because that would be every product we own, buy on a regular basis, or plan to buy in the future. I am definately not on the oil tycoons side but do we bitch to Ronald Mcdonald about him charging a dime for a burger in the past and now 1.99 for the same piece of dead cow between some bread? Or complain to crest because they have us cornered since we NEED to brush our teeth and now charge 4 bucks a tube instead of 22 cents? No.

Thats all. [^]

yeah but there's a huge difference. i HAVE to buy gasoline. i dont have to buy water, i have filters installed and filter it myself. if i could have my own gas filter and do that too i'd do that as well . you are right about inflation and about people gouging us to get a huge profit. but i can chose what i eat, where i eat, and how much i pay. even if i drove a car that uses 87 octane, i'd still get gouged on gas and there's nothing i can do about that. inflation based on rising costs of living is one thing. raising gas prices because you have a monopoly is another.

I had to pay $40 for gas on Sunday. I almost cried *^__^*

It was still cheaper than the $2.71 per gallon I saw somewhere else[jaw]

Yeah, paid $40 this weekend for 17.1 of 91. It would have cost me over $50 to fill my tank on the truck, 26 gallons which is why right now I'm driving my car more than the truck, and the fact that my truck gets way worse gas mileage and I have to use 91 in it.
