He should have at least thrown on a better shell over his car. No metro, he's forcing guys to commit hara-kiri.[xx(]

Maybe if he built a fiberglas faux turtle shell.[]

I think the vid says this is the 3.8 GM motor. I've seen people do motor swaps into the older mr2 with this engine and they are damn quick. Turbo and NOS? Daaaaaaamn... that would be funnny to creep up on an STi at a red light with this little 9 second clunker.

Couple of years back (when the Beetle's first came out) I saw an article on a 500 hp Beetle. Put the geo on one side of a 911 turbo and the beetle on the other side and you'd get to see a Porsche guy kill himself in 9.5 seconds.

I wonder how stable that is at speed. A square doesn't know what direction is straight ... seems pretty dangerous to be in at high speed

It's inertia would just keep it going straight. The faster it travels the higher the tendency for it to go straight.

yeah but at higher speeds the slightest turn or rumble could easily turn the car. Isn't there a minimum safe length for professional dragsters?

Sudden and great acceleration might cause instability. Constant high speed would not.

Constant high speed in a 1800 lb geo with a shifting tail wind isn't good im sure.

Hahaaaa It's true. What good is speed without stability.

Yeah, a high speed coupled with an uneven road and shifting winds could definitely be trouble for a car like that.
