OK so I was minding my own business the other night and I was pulling up to this place to grab something to eat, so I down shifted to second gear as I was slowing down to make my right hand turn into this place. Out of the corner of my eye I see this guy pull up in what I'm believing is a yellow Mazda 3. He came out of now where, then is sitting next to me and just revs it then goes and pumps it once and jerks ahead and of me and slows like he wanted me to race him.[bigeyes]

He had to be kidding me right...we make like 100 hp over that thing!

[lol] ... my friend got a Mazda3 S (the 160 hp model) recently. It's a great car for the price but I gotta admit when I sit in it and he 'floors' it ... I guess you can describe it as brisk but ... well ya know

The 3 is slow so is the 6, but Mazda is comeing out with a Mazdaspeed 6 next year. The details are sketchy but rumor has it that it might be FI. Something to look out for next year.

I would have taken him for a ride except I was hungry, I was laughing really hard, and I just started my turn into the driveway when he darted ahead and slowed....

I know we shouldn't pick on slower cars and brag about it being a kill, but secretly I like having some fun with those guys, I just don't ever count it a kill, maybe a toying.

actually one of my friend's parents got a brand spankin new sc430... we were all lookin at it in the garage. (it's a damn nice car). anyway.. we decided to stop by and take a look at the car before heading out to a bonfire...

i was parked in the driveway.. next to my other friend's Z.

SC + G + Z = awesome house...

anyway.. my friend's neighbor has a yellow mazdaspeed protege.. and this guy is about 20ish and he's standing on the sidewalk just lookin at our cars and he starts talkin...

he's talkin about our cars.. like.. how our cars were overpriced for the power etc... and hes just trying to downplay our cars... so he shows me his bright yellow mazdaspeed protoge. he shows me his NOS tank in his trunk.. it was hooked up to two little things by his windshield. and it shoots out gas with a touch of a button. i tried my hardest not to laugh.
then he showed me his sound system. i must admit it was pretty nice. but he was playing some weird music man... and i really wanted to jet out cuz he was buggin me and my friends were giving me the "you gotta get the hell out of there so we can leave" look. so i was like.. oh.. cool car man but i gotta go.

he's still talkin to me but i just casually tell him "nice to meet you" i forgot his name but he turned on his underglow and bumped his music.

just a story. i felt like writing a story so i did.

Ah ... the overwhelming current notion that a sports car should have a billion hp and sportiness has nothing to do with handling. I don't think I could have not laughed when he showed the 'Nos' tank. Was the sound system stock or custom? The Mazdaspeed Proteges were nice ... not a huge performance increase over the stock ones but they had a nice sound system
