I want to know if it is safe to say that a girl will not get pregnant right before or after her period because from what i know.. A girl can only get pregnant one day between cycles (during ovulation).. correct? and an ova lives for only 1 day before it dies in the uterus.. correct?
and a girl ovulates 10-14 days before her period.. correct?
...soo... since ovulation occurs 10-14 days before the period and the ova dies in 1 day... theoretically a woman cannot be pregnant right before her period right? since only 1 ova comes out each period.. and it is dead between ovulations...
i know that theres a chance of pregnancy right after her period because of a chance of an early period.. meaning earlier ovulation..
well i dont know i was just wondering. Any comments would be useful. thanks.
I wouldn't go as far as to say there is a certain time when a girl cannot get pregnant. There are times when its less likely than other times, or "safer" times. But I really wouldn't take the chance. Get her on the pill or put a rubber on. The pill is free from Planned Parenthood. Just go there fill out a couple papers, on the first visit she'll have to have a physical, then thats it. They give you enough pills for a few months, then when you need more just go back and they'll give you more.

It's never safe to say that. Even more importantly, it's not a chance you want to be taking.
I've heard of females getting pregnant even while during her period. Not sure what the chances are of that happening, but it has.
Reem, I think you are basically describing the "rhythm method" of birth control. I seem to remember hearing about this being popular back in like the 70's or something. You had to know your woman's cycle and chart it pretty accurately.
Here's the downside - this same method can be used to INCREASE the chance of pregnancy too! If you know when the egg is being released you can better time your copulation and create more oppurtunity for sperm and egg to meet.
I think it would be safe to say that this is NOT an effective birth control method (when compared to the pill or condoms). Especially if you are not keeping very accurate charts.
So if the problem is that little jimmy doesn't like to wear his raincoat and yer worried about her parents finding out that she's on the pill this would not be a good solution.

hahahaha. you guys.. im not necessarily talking about myself.. or am i...
well i was just curious and needed some insight. haha. well any professional incite would be profitable.
and this is all theoretical...
well yes, a girl can get pregnant during her period (i dunno why anyone would want to get busy during this red river rapid) cuz ovulation can occur during this time... meaning an early period.
Goodness REEM!!.. Ok.. let me tell you the deal on this (sorry but I had to do a whole presentation on this topic for teens in high school- pregnancy prevention)
Anyhow... the answer is NO..there is no 'safe' time. The reason is cuz all girls are different and rarely do any of us have 'regular' periods (due to stress and diets, etc) it's not consistent. The myth about not getting pregnant during or after your period is 'bull'. the 10 to 12 days is correct and it can be a little before and after the period...So DON'T TAKE CHANCES.
Plan Parenthood gives them free and it's only about $15 for insurance...50 cent a day is better than a baby that'll run you the price of your G!!!
NO matter what a girl tells you... don't take any chances!!!! the SAFEST WAY TO NOT GET PREGNANT IS TO USE A CONDOM OR THE PILLS. And even with that..it's still only 99% !!! hope i answered your question.[]
However, I have an interesting time for you to think about. Our swimmers can stay alive for up to 3 days after they have embarked upon their misson. So what ever the periods you are thinking about, you need to factor that our boys in white will survive for 72 hours.
