Ivan misses us and hits the Gulf states...or so we thought. Early this week we get dumped on from a storm. Now they are saying that Ivan somehow looped around and got us. Now it's back in the Gulf for a second time and strengthening.
Jeanne is projected to hit us head on now. It's still 3 days out so things can still change but the way things are going I'm not holding my breath.
This hurricane season has to be one of the worst if not the worst ever for our eastern US homies. I hope u guys get through it the best u can. id much rather deal withthe occasional earthquake than the almost guaranteed hurricanes every year. []

I'd be scared shitless of a hurricane... probably because i never experianced one. Earthquakes dont really scare me... duno why. That big earthquake we had back then my mom tried to wake me up and tell me to run under the table, i said forget it and just threw the blankets over me..lol
LOL! Hell yea my ass is to big to be running under the table these days..[lol]
But i was younger when that earthquake happened, i was smaller so i could fit under there. But still, i didnt want to run under the table, i was tired and just wanted to sleep.
Wow, I dont think either would bother me. Ive never been through an earthquake, but I did sleep through a tornado (as Im sure ive mentioned... the days run together). I think going down and reporting at the coast about the hurricanes coming ashore would be a wicked cool job. I wouldnt go down there regularly (wouldnt want to destroy my own car)... but if I had someone put me in a truck so I can drive someone elses car down there... Id be all for it!
I'm still small enough to fit under a table, but I won't do it cuz I'm afraid it'll break and trap me underneath... there's been a few small quakes this past year and each time, I'm at work and our buiding is on rollers so it starts to "roll" back and forth...man I would freak out so bad... I can't stop shaking. LOL.. I get tease all the time about it.
Rollers are a method in earthquake prone areas to allow buildings to more or less roll with the shake. It prevents the building from being shaked to death if it was fixed into the ground. The rollers allow the build to ride with the shock, not talking about letting it roll down the street but basically a couple inches thus allowing the building enough to flex to absorb the shock.
