got back last friday but had to work the next day at 8am. had a great time. went kayaking in kealakekua bay and saw a bunch of dolphins. went parasailing. ate a bunch of spam. went to all the abc stores. ate at the four seasons. went to costco. swam in kailua harbor. voided the rental car warranty by going off roading in the pos saturn ion. had so much fine that my wife and i booked a trip to oahu in december. that's it.
Have u ever been to Oahu Super? If not make sure u check out Hanauma Bay (i think i spelled that right). Its a place to go snorkeling it was one the most enjoyable experiences ive had in hawaii. Saw many different types of fish and came close to some sea turtles. Glad u had a good time. Mmmmmm SPAM!! haha

Hanauma Bay is absolutely gorgeous. Kind of touristy, but extremely cool at the same time.

Was that "fine" supposed to be "wine" or "fun," or maybe both???
i've been to oahu twice already... yep hanauma bay is nice but getting way too crowded. there's some great snorkeling in north shore but not during the winter time due to the winter swells. it should be interesting, i've never been to hawaii during the winter. i hear there are some 40' waves along sunset, pipeline and waimea during that time of year. my favorite in oahu is the rainbow drive in...damn good local food.

I went to Sunset a few Decembers back during the surfing triple crown and the waves were only ~3-5 feet [] I was hoping to see some monsters. The waves kicked up to 10-15 the next day, so the competition resumed, but I still dídn't get to see any big ones.
There's a great local breakfast place near the Outrigger Reef in Waikiki too. Real cheap and good food.
Rainbow Drive In - right by my old high school. Boneless chicken gravy all ovah w/slush float....yee ha.
Hanauma Bay - haven't been there in probably 15 years. A million fishes and a billion tourists. Best bet is going real early in the morning, clear water and definitely a lot less people.
As funny as it may seem to you guys, I have never been to the North Shore (Country) when it was big. Too many people. Oahu has too many people.
I would say any of the outer islands are pretty good to kick back and relax (except Molokai and Kahoolawe).
Molokai not really the friendly isle. Kahoolawe hasn't been opened up to the general public yet and I am not sure when and if it will.
It was sooo funny when me and my family went to Hanuama Bay. As we were walking in we saw some japanese tourists in full out scuba gear. My dad says jokingly, "I bet they dont even go out past the edge of the reef." So we get finally get out there and sure enough, they are all within the confinds of the reef. Where it really doesnt get any deeper that about 8 feet. Good thing they rented that scuba gear... LoL! Yea SUPER i hear those 40"(inch) wavees can be pretty unreal in the winter [:P] I would love to see the North Shore when its going off. I would love to be out there even more to be able to hear and see the raw power of those things!!

thanks in lu... i already changed it to '. ck...as for the four seasons, we ate at "pahu'ia" which is arguably the best restaurant on kona...all i gotta say is damn! we also ate at jamesons by the sea. good, not great. awesome view though as it was right off magic sands beach. we ate at the manago hotel in captain cook which is around 15 min. south of kailua. great home cooking, known for their pork chops. also ate this place called lu lu's. nice view, mediocre food but cute waitress. went out to honokaa to this place called tex's. they have really good malasadas(portugese donuts) but not as good as leonard's on oahu. anyone here try alan wong's on oahu? that's definitely on top of our list of restaurants to try.
Superdds, you really are super, you've beaten me to a lot of those eateries. I'm more of a mutt myself, so tend to frequent other establishments.[bigmouth]
Dang! 2 Hawaii trips within a span of 6 months! Super, you've got the life....I'm jealous. For your punishment, you must post some pics for us poor souls that are stuck indoors daydreaming about Hawaii.

Dang x 2 !!! A friend of mine just got back from Shanghai and picked up a fake Mont Blanc pen for me. Pretty impressive seeing as he only paid around $5. I heard the fake Mont Blanc pens are all the rage in China because it looks, feels, writes genuinely real, at the fraction of the cost. Anyway something to think about for some possible souvenirs while in Hong Kong []. Anyway enjoy the trips alone because you probably will not have the time after next year, until 15-20 years down the road.
