I hate to spoil the fun. Well, actually, I would really enjoy spoiling the fun.
Is it just me or does anybody else notice that almost every post in the past week or two has gone COMPLETELY off topic? I do not mean to insult anyone, I am just trying to express some things that I have noticed in the past week.
Ru can find a short reply to just about anything. Even if his reply doesn't have to do with the topic, he still manages to hijack the thread (See VW Passat GLS for sale thread--prime example). Sometimes Ru will even reply to himself if somebody doesn't throw in another response in time.
Apparently LC is a very attractive woman, who doesn't mind talking about her sexual preference or how man goo has 100 calories per spoonful. Yes, I have joined in on the "e-flirting" as well, but can the woman please post without somebody making a sexual reference. I am starting to get this weird vibe that I am in an online flirting forum. This is NOT Match.com. If you must flirt or ask for nude pics of LC, please do so in the Totally Off Topic forum, and use some tact. Such as this...
LC, I am doing a research project for my woman studies class. Any nude photographs you could send my way would help me out greatly. The professor said they had to be of good taste, but if you would like to throw some nasty ones in there I will see if I can incorporate them into some other project. P.S. I understand if you cannot send the pics, I guess I will just have to fail the class if that is the case[] (See guys, I didn't even have to hijack a thread to trick her into sending me naked pics)
Ru, I expect to see this post hijacked in the next 30 seconds, that is fine. But can everyone please refrain from posting nonsense in threads where nonsense is not required. The few threads that Ru doesn't completely hijack are taken over by people either wondering why Ru hasn't hijacked it, or proclaiming joy over the fact that were able to respond to a post before Ru could for once.
Lastly, to lighten the subject up a bit, I am glad to see that everyone still had enough sense to make fun of the guy with the "!!!!!!!!!!!!!" post about the spinner rims.
I think everyone is amazed with Ru and his abilities. As for the thread jacking, I am guilty of this. Somehow I ended up posting pics of my dog in a thread about replacing the door handle. I still can't figure out how we got on that topic. SOmething about me taking the dog to the park instead of doing the mod, oh well.
Also, I beat Ru to the punch. HAHAHA.
No more thread jacking for me.
[werd] With me, i have the G35 Coupe forum page as a link on my favorites list. I forget that there are other aspects to these forums such as the "Totally Off Topic" and the many other different areas that we can post on. So i generally end up posting on the main forum. Lo siento ill try to do better []

Hey Uncle Lippy,
I was about to post something very similar. As you all know, I check this site pretty regularly at work, and I usually get something out of it, but for the past few days, every new post has just been conversation. I don't mind conversation, it's great, but let's try to keep some content on our boards. That is the point, after all.

LoL... That quote that i have "You're Not Worthy!" is a quote that is put on the bottles of my favorite beer. Its called Arrogant Bastard Ale and Brewed by Stone Brewery ouside of San Diego, and man does it have some kick to it. Another quote that i like from Stone Brewery is... "Yellow fizzy beers are for Wussies!" Uh oh... so can we get off topic on a thread that is in the Off Topic area? Or am i gonna get in trouble for this? []

Maybe we should start an Off Topic Thread in the Off topic Section and you could say whatever whenever you want. Except for Ru. He would be talking to himself to increase his hoe status.
...you have no idea how much flaming shit I get from the quiet lurking people here who think I am the devil...

[lol] ... I honestly don't mean to hijack threads ... just kinda happens. The small replies are just who I am. I don't think I've ever replied to myself but if I have I apologize about that
Amen Brothers. It HAS become time consuming separating the wheat from the chaff lately. There is ZERO value in opening a serious topic of interest only to find the thread denigraded into chit chat, schoolboy drool or winking smilies. If a thread doesn't contain 95% pertinent posts, I just mentally shitcan it. But that still doesn't address the frustration of seeing the same poster(s) consistently adding little more than their .02+ of drivel.
That aside, while I enjoy this site because it offers an air of casual levity, I want real content...although a little sizzle with my steak is ok too. So I applaud LC for trying to draw those who could not stay on topic to the correct forum board. Frankly, I think anybody should be able to post and/or anything they want there - racey, sick, selfish or just want to hear yourself talk - I don't care, just put it there.
In addition to keeping the chat in the Off Topic Forum, a couple of other simple suggestions that might help add value and enjoyment:
1.) let all people (particularly women!) post a serious question topic and respect their thread with serious replys. The vast majority of replys should be to offer meaningful, constructive help or concrete info. Nobody, including the thread starter, likely wants to hear a bunch of unrelated or speculative drivel - they're after a definitive answer. If you don't know, DON'T REPLY!
2.) make a genuine effort to SEARCH please...BEFORE posting a question! Regardless of how generous, nice and helpful other members may be at times, don't "rely" on them to become your personal search engine. What makes you think their time is any less valuable than yours? Do it your own lazy azz self and become a contributor rather than a taker. Besides, odds are very good that a detailed answer to your question already exists and is readily accessible in the forum posts archives.
Thanks, Lippy, I feel better now too.
