Awesome[cheers] Good for the little bastard. I guess I was a smart kid...I would only sneak beer, amaretto, and peach schnapps (cheap stuff).

[bigeyes] Well, I didn't have much of a choice being underage in a little shit town. We either had to sneak kegs into the woods to drink behind someone's house or drink what our parents already had in the house. My father drank beer or cheap burbon [crazy] and my mother drank homemade amaretto or peach schnapps [ghey]. Notice I listed beer first [cheers] as it was my first choice. FYI, I'm more of a tequila, rum, and wine drinker now, but still enjoy tipping a few beers back.

Homemade amaretto, eh? That could be either awesome or awful.

Haha, just messing with you. After a night of Johnnie Walker Black at my favorite drinking establishment, I thought it was funny to come on the board and see that somebody was drinking peach schnapps. But hey, at least you had the ambition to get drunk, that my friend, is the first step to a healthy alcoholism. []

I don't think that I'll become a healthy alcoholic because alcoholics have to go to meetings. I'll just be a healthy drunk[].

Struan, Homemade amaretto is definitely awesome and really easy to make. The only ingredient that can be tough to get in some states is 190 proof grain alcohol. Other than that, it's just water, sugar, almond extract, pure vanilla extract, karo syrup, and heat.

Yeah, that sounds pretty easy. I thought maybe you made it Saronno style, with Amaretti cookies.
And I'm in Texas, getting 190 proof is no trouble []

It tastes almost exactly like Amaretto DiSaronno. Each batch makes 4-5 bottles.

Amaretti cookies?

I wish all parents would do that. Also how the hell is that kid 6'3 and only 13. I was like barely 5' when I was 13. I would hate to see his diddy.

They're what "real" amarettos like DiSaronno and Lazzaroni are made of.

Sweet. I've never tried those. This is the Amaretto DiSaronno to which I was referring:

Yeah, that's good stuff. I'd recommend the Lazzaroni...it's on par with DiSaronno for about half the price! I usually try to stay away from the big name liquors (DiSaronno, Bailey's, Absolut, Captain Morgan) because you can almost always get a better product for cheaper (Lazzaroni, St. Brendans, Tito's, Cruzan, respectively).
