I'm fairly sure I don't. The body of water that floods when things are bad usually floods out in other places than near where I live. Even when it does flood in my town (maybe once a year) there is a lot of land that is set aside as flood plane. And even if it were to get out of that, my house is probably close to 100 ft higher elevation than that area. That would be a lot of damn water....

Depends where you are. If you live in an area that floods - then obviously you should get it. But just because you don't live in an area that floods doesn't mean you don't need it. A lot of people have the mentality that if they are up on a hill or if they are not in a flood plain they don't need it. all it takes is enough of a hard rain to build up water that seeps in your basement and you've got some serious damage.
