i'm not defending anyone, im saying all that is shown is a picture and how it's being interpreted. wheres the proof of malice? different countries/cultures have different senses of humor and different ideas of what is and is not acceptable. what may seen racist to us is not necessarily racial at all to another culture. you can't be ethnocentric when dealing with the olympics.
i would suggest you reading the spaniard's response before commenting any further. they were asked to do the pose by one of their sponsors who thought it would be a friendly pose/gesture and nothing more.

a) your example is flawed. a nazi uniform would not be as offensive to the germans as it would to say the jewish. if a jewish company asked some guys to dress up in nazi uniforms... well i guess that'd be a bit weird, but whatever. comparing slanted eyes to nazis is a bit extreme though. what is so offensive about the slanted eyes thing? i'm being serious here, i don't understand. maybe immature but i don't really see the racism in it.
b) the point is, the article was incredibly vague. the ONLY useful info i got out of it was via the external links. on top of that, how does posting a thread with a title like this one's, and calling the spaniards 'spics' make you ANY better than some guys making their eyes slanted? even if it was meant in a malicious manner by the spaniards, which it doesn't appear to have been.
