Well this time I just went back to my post on the first page where I had linked it. The first time I did a google search for "us oil sources".

Here's another link showing further breakdown along with historical data. U.S. Total Crude Oil and Products Imports

i really missed on trying to word my statement, i know US buys gas from venezuela, we're their #1 consumer.

i meant to say, we don't buy as much gas from venezuela because their president is anti-american.

Even that's not so true. Chavez took power in 1999, look at the historical data in that link above. We are importing from Venezuela pretty much the same amount now that we were before he was elected.

notice how steadily the importation of canadian oil has been rising over time.


as i said, we could be buying more oil from venezuela, but we don't. my guess is for political reasons.
