Default My home theater

Many years ago I started building a home theater in my basement, but I never completed it. It was functional for awhile, and then became a storage area and I lost interest in it. Lately, mywife has been helping me complete projects that I started or planned to start. Some of the Georgia folks have seen my garage she really fixed up for me.

Now we are working on the theatre and I am very happy about the progress.

This how it looked after we removed the stuff from the room. Dark red flat paint on the walls and white trim.

We primed the walls with Kilz.

When I started my theatre the price of front projectors was very high and flat panels were not on the market.

I had space to build in my 35 inch TV and made a closet for my components.

The walls have been painted gold now and Debra is painting the trim a dark color for me tonight.

Here is the wall color.

I have all I need for right now, I have a Laserdisc player, nice DVD, VCR, reciever, DirectTV DVR, okay speakers and my 35" Proscan TV. I would like to add a front projector into the mix someday soon.

thats cool, Ive got a front projector but I don't have a dedicated room like that. That would be sweet. I install home theater systems, so if I can help let me know.

It's a cement floor, I was going to build a raised wood floor (about 3 inches) but never got around to it. After I get all the painting done I am going to put down some carpet.

The paint is a gold color, looks darker in person.

When they sold them the movies were expensive, a new disc would cost $60- $90!
