that job sucks though. a lot of the time they have to do insane cold calling and use some sleazy tactics to make that kind of cash. also, it is full commission right?

The guy i know who did it didn't have to make any cold calls. His appointments were set up for him by the company. The only thing he didn't like was the fact that he was away all the time in different cities. They paid him well, paid all of his expenses, and paid for his hotel and airfare. He usually worked only weekends when the companies were closed and usually put in 18 hour days from Friday-Monday...

It's not quite that bad, no cold calls, they do try to up sell when on site and I don't think it's all comission, but I'm not sure.

Might have been an independent adt dealer. ADT has a deal where anyone can sell an alarm and install it and ADT will pay the dealer for the monitoring contract.

Do what others who pretty don't have any skills does...

be a cop. It doesn't take a degree, they accept GED's = Good Enuf Degree, and you don't need any special skills. They will train you be an a**hole. Starting pay is around mid $50's. Plus they give you a gun and a big stick. They also give you a hoopty to drive around all day.

Or get some other gubbament job.

all of the good towns in my area require a college degree or military experience to even apply...
and the downside to having a gun is that sometimes people shoot back at you...

Really? WTH??? Imagine that a cop with a college degree. Talk about an oxymoron.

Well shoot back! The bullets are free, excuses are not.

If I were a cop I'd double tap every suspect I ever came across and club every old lady just for principle sake.

That's got to be the highest starting salary I've ever seen. I've got a bunch of family members who are cops and a few started work in South Central back in the early 90's where you had your regular 80 year old grandmas and grandpas run out to greet a patrol car with your old buck shot shotty. Good times. They don't make em like that no mo...
