Actually, I'm not sure who copied who as far as the characters' backgrounds go, but the man in the iron suit came first.
HUH??? Iron's first appearance is around the 60s, his first comic book was in 1968 "The Invincible Iron Man" Batman has been around since 1939 in Detective Comics # 27. So bats has been around way longer
oh ok i see what you're saying now... beyond that, have you ever noticed how similar the two characters are? both rich, both good with the ladies, both good with gadgets....
Well those are all shallow similarities. They have to be rich in order to fund their crime fighting ways.
Looking closer, Stark developed his own suit, Wayne gets all the fancy prototypes from his company.
Also Batman is obviously far more dark than Iron man and he is all about solving the mystery...i.e ' The world's best detective' (who happens to know to kick serious ass).
Stark is awesome with the suit, but powerless without it (even more vulnerable since he relies on it to live). Wayne can kick the shit outta anyone even without his belt. So they are pretty different in the end.

OK, so I got that wrong too... but my point still stands: Batman and Iron Man are still rival comics and should never be on the same screen together...
And I bet the bastards in Hollywood threw the Batman commercial in on purpose, for this reason...

Yes, i know, im a damn nerd.
i somewhat agree, but yet disagree. literally, batman is more dark than iron man. but at the same time, iron man deals with all sorts of addiction problems. that's a lot more dark than anything bruce wayne ever endured...
^^^I'll give u the addition stuff, but since I havent really read many ironman comics, but I do have a bunch of batman comics, and he has been through a shit load of crap through his history...so I dunno man. Agree to disagree???
I saw Iron Man last week with my Pops and I really enjoyed it. He thought it was over the top but I had fun watching it. Cool movie and I didn't know John Favreau directed it until I saw the credits. By the way, I stayed for the very end and that so called surprise scene at the end was not worth the wait.
I still prefer Batman, the Tim Burton film or Batman Begins to this, but I am much more biased to Batman anyway. Best comic book adaptation overall? I dunno, I thoroughly enjoyed Sin City, The Crow, Blade, and X-Men.
One more thing, did Gwenyth Paltrow look hot or was that just me? She dumbed herself down from her typical roles and took on more of the hot looking assistant. It worked!
You and Smoke should see this documentary. It's been on the History channel and I've been really impressed with it:
Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked - Comic Book Superheroes Unmasked.
It just aired today and I saw it a few months ago. Very fascinating. I'm sure it'll re-air at another time or you can rent it from NetFlix. Really good stuff if you're into the origins of comic books and how our real life stories play into the literature of comic books.

Can you see their resemblances now?
Actually, I'm not sure who copied who as far as the characters' backgrounds go, but the man in the iron suit came first. And even today, Iron Man merchandise is the highest earner for Marvel comics... And basically, why it's ironic is because it's exactly like Chevy putting Ford Mustang advertisements in all Vettes.
And yes, I know Superman was created during the war due to the need for a superhero to represent hope for the people, which is kinda like politics... but he wasn't exactly DC's own creation.

I have a friend who's hella into comic books... this guy can talk on and on about Marvel vs DC... kinda where I got my main point from, although my facts aren't completely correct. You can't expect me to pay attention to everything he rambles on about...

Paltrow is hotter when she shuts up about her political believes. BTW I think her mother is hotter than she is.
I didn't like the Tim Burton Batman, I much prefer the Christian Bale version.

I think the first Tim Burton Batman was the best of the Tim Burton Batman movies, the rest were too comic styled. But the darker Christopher Nolan version definitely tops all...
