Default I ended up buying a new TV!

I went to Fry's today and saw a nice deal on a TV that I could not pass up! I picked up a Sony 60 in. SXRD Rear Projection unit for well under $4,000.

Well under!

just stopped at sears... i bought a 34" tv 3 yrs back (secondary tv)... it's had problems since day one....
anyway... AMX is covering it... they paid for an estimate... got teh guy to write it up as tube replacement, etc.. cost of repair would be $1600... tv was $1200...
so AMX just needed the receipt.... i went to Sears to get them to reprint but didnt realize i actually had teh receipt (i thought it was just the merchandise pick up receipt - but prices and dates are on there)

so i was checking out the tvs... and to back up my previous comment... i am REALLY liking the new Samsungs... best black levels out there. and teh higher end models with the "AutoMotion Plus" look NIIICE. first time i've seen a "factory enhancement" that was worth using.
sears has some good prices.... i might be back there early next week when i get my refund from AMX.

AMX is the best btw.... amazing customer service.

I dunno about you guys, but after my top of the line Mitsu projection TV kicked the bucket three years after I purchased it at the cost of my left nut, I promised myself to never buy another projection TV again.

What's the verdict on plasma TV's? Are they gonna stick around or are LCD TV's the future?
