Default Help needed (especially those in the auto industry)

I need help with a new project I am thinking about going forward with. This one would have me selling advertising to companies in the auto industry. What I need help with is compiling a list of all the types of companies that sell a product or service to new and used car dealerships.

My 'product' would be a compilation of all these dealer services and would be given out to area dealerships.

This is what I have off the top of my head...

Financing Co's
Detailers
Sticker Co's (for the year and price windshield stickers)
Parts Suppliers

If I think of more, I will add them. Any help is appreciated.

I hope I follow what you are looking for--like people who sell addons and stuff?

paintless dent removal
window tinters
undercoaters
my g had some kind of deal where the glass in etched with a number. it's some kind of anti-theft crap.
I know theres some companys that put a paint sealant so your dont have to wax or something but i dont know what its called.
thats aboout all i can think of

yes, those are all good. basically any company that would want to advertise to a car dealership specifically.

i did and hes compiling a list. but i would like to consider all possibilities... not just the types of things that one used car dealership happens to use.

yea, I was thinking that it could be used for pretty much any industry..

how about adding towing/transport companies
aftermarket radio/remote start installers
dunno if auto auctions do advertising

yes those are good ones. auctions do advertise (i've seen them in the dealer magazines my friend gets). the auction thing would be worth a shot, but i am trying to focus on companies that a car dealership might need to call on a daily or weekly basis.

You would have to tailor the services to the auctions to dealers. Most auctions are not open to the public, but some are.

every dealer that i know goes to the auctions on a weekly basis. I am willing to bet that a car dealership deals with auto auctions way more than they deal with a guy selling stickers or flags for the antennas...

if I read his first post correctly, this advertising is going to be targeting dealers specifically.

this is true. i am wanting this to be more of an informational directory than a true advertisement (by appearances anyways). i'm not sure how many times a dealership would need to actually call the auction.
but as long as they would pay to be on it, i'll do it.

i'm not sure i follow this.

it would be a directory of companies that offer usable products and services to car dealerships. it would be distributed solely to dealerships.
