ok, I decided I wanted to def be somewhere warm so that ruled out Atlantic City, Cape Cod, upper East Coast etc. I am kinda bored with Southern FL too. Vegas is expensive and I am not sure I would want to spend more than a few days there at a time. My wallet and liver couldn't handle it!
Mexico seemed to be the best bang for my buck. $830pp includes airfare, room, all meals & snacks at the resort (3 restaurants), liquor, taxes, tips, etc. 6 days/5 nights stay. I have done this sort of package before at similar resort in Mexico and it worked out well. I don't want to have to trek around all day trying to find restaurants or cantinas that won't make me sick. Everything I need is at the resort!
That is what I was afraid of. I don't want to be bored out of my mind by day 2..
I don't know what islands are good or where to go on them.
I looked up Jamaica but there are 8 or so places listed on travelocity and I have no clue which areas are good or bad.
Any other tropical places that are not too expensive?
Some of the islands can be major league scratch unless you book an all inclusive. Without doing one of those, watch out! Food is big bucks down there.
Of course if you hit any of the French Caribbean places, you have to look at all those topless babes on the beach. Not that way in the American Virgin Islands just the French ones.
Las Vegas always has entertainment. I have not been in a while but just walking the strip they'd have something you'd like. Pirate ships having battles and what not right in the big man made lakes in front of the hotels.
More bang for the buck in Vegas, more eye candy in the Caribbean!

the last time I went to Cancun there were two pirate ships docked right outside of our resort. They went out and attacked each other every night. It was pretty cool!
