I think that is where I might end up. Anyone know of good hotels to stay at? I have never been before.
Mexico is a close 2nd. I can get an all inclusive resort stay and airfare starting at 650pp....
I am open to other ideas though..
I don't know about AC. I go there often but don't think I could spend more than a day trip there. There is nothing to do but gamble....literally. There is a boardwalk but once you spent a couple hours walking that, then you're done. If you really want to go, I like Caesar's hotel the best. Its on the boardwalk so you can walk to other casino's too and check them out and there are plenty of restaurants.
Are there any good deals to one of the Caribbean Islands? I think Mexico would be cool too.

That is what I was afraid of. I don't want to be bored out of my mind by day 2..

I don't know what islands are good or where to go on them.
I looked up Jamaica but there are 8 or so places listed on travelocity and I have no clue which areas are good or bad.
Any other tropical places that are not too expensive?
+1 on the cruise. We just went on a cruise on a costa ship. It went to key west, grand cayman, roatan, and cozumel. If I had to pick one it would be cozumel. The ship was really nice though I think next time we'll go on a different one. This one seemed to be kinda for an older crowd there wasn't that much parting going on. overall it was awesome.
my buddy just went on a cruise. left from miami and went through the caribbean and down to mexico. said he had the time of his life and spent only about $1000 total (including gas to get down there, all inclusive cruise and drinks at every stop.)
the only thing i would say though which is what he did is sneak as much liquor as possible onto the ship. you'll have to be creative, but drinks on a cruise ship are outrageous. something like $7 a beer and $12 a mixed drink.
it also makes a big difference what cruiseline and boat you go on....
my favs are Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. (same company)
but not only the company but make sure it is a NEWER boat.... the old boats are small.. suck.. and the staff isnt as good bc of that.
2 years ago... cruised on one of the bigger RC boats out of PR to Aruba, Curacio, and a few other places... had the time of my life...
last year, went to Bermuda. (one of , if not my favorite island)... but made a huge mistak on the boat... and it sucked bc of it... the boat makes ALL the difference.
