The only thing that might be "Off" about mines is that I have a PVD finish, my finish isn't anodized but it still looks great.

It's old school as well. Wind it up every two days.

Yeah, I've seen and handled some very good fakes, but a good risti will know. I've seen those super replicas you mention and I've yet to see one that I can't pick out with enough time. A guy I know has some that cost him $1.5k, but I always tell him. For that much money on a fake he might as well have saved a bit more for the genuine article.

Of course, fakes on a wrist makes it that much harder to spot, but I wouldn't want to be shamed in public when someone does call me out on a fake though. Really, I know that the genuines don't merit a $8k, or even a $3k price tag, but the genuine article feels oh so good.

It's probably using a Chinese replicated Unitas 6497 manual wind auto movement. It's got a 48hr power reserve. Meaning one you fully wind it, it'll keep time for up to 48 hrs.

Yeah, if you got a PVD model PAM rep, then it's easy to tell it's a fake to those who know. There are only a few genuine PVD PAM models and there are places/points to look that are total give aways. This is known by most risti's. The thing is most of the public doesn't even know what a Panerai is so...

I don't think my PAM has a power reserve. I just wanted the OP logo and the rubber bracelet.

And as for the public... What they don't know won't...

Not a power reserve meter. I meant that your movement will run for 48hrs.

Personally, I'm not anal about reps. I know they're out there and for 1/1000th the price of the genuine article. With the Chinese rep'n their children one would only think they'd replicate one of the biggest thing in watches since the 60's. I've got some crazy risti friends that would go nazi on those who wear/make/sell reps though. I can understand both sides. Hey, whatever floats your boat right?

Me= Eric Bana, Munich.

It's ok, I doubt I'd ever run into your buddies, but if they ever see me, just tell them not to ask me for the time, only because it would be fake.

in college, my buddy used to sell fake Louis V. bags and wallets. i knew they were fake, but he showed me all of the tell-tale signs of a fake such as no serial #, the fabric inside, and that the pattern should be symmetrical (no LV symbols cut off at the seams)... his were good fakes. in fact i met the sketchy importer that buys them from Tawain - he even held a lighter up to one to show me that it wasn't pleather.

anyhow so i bought one for my lady and didnt tell her it was fake... i remember someone who knows their shit called her out on it. how embarrassing for both of us. since then i have been anti-fake anything.

Original watch - not bad. Styling is not me and it would bug me that the bezel is military time.
