Default Roflmao

This is nothing new. I go to the dealership for the fourth fix on my gas tank sending unit...I mention hey thanks for swiping some brass nuts out of my trunk when you dug around in there last time and thanks for never checking the air on my spare...anywho...they fix it this time...they swear...then they say btw, the brakes are now at 2mm and the rotz can't be resurfaced or they will not be up to specs.

Just for grins I said oh, if I were so stupid how much would that cost me?

$2,939.00 - direct quote.

Obviously, it is a good time for me to consider an upgrade to my brakes...anyone found anything that is better? I might just replace the parts but hey, maybe I could find a brake pad out there that is even better? I tend to like overkill...

MyNismo.com - Performance Stage 2 kit

i'm remember seeing these kits as low as 680 shipped from a vendor over on g35driver. i also have the brembo set up and went with the stoptech slotted rotors...but with endless vita nuova pads. labor shouldn't be more than 200-300. good luck.

It is so easy to change tha pads and rotors yourself. I got the complete set of rotors and pads from R1Concepts.com for a lot less.

Bought drilled/slotted rotors here for about $200 Performance Brakes, Brake Pads, Anaheim, CA
and oem pads for $100 from somewhere else. or you could get pads from the first guy for another $20.

Brakes are easy to do, especially if you have someone to help out when it comes time to bleed the lines.

If you skip on bleeding the fluid the job is even easier. Simple turning bolts. Get some guy to do it for you, I'm sure you can find a few around. There always are.

So did you laugh in their face when they gave you the price quote? Laugh out loud? Scoff? Roll your eyes? Shriek?

Or did you just smile and walk away?

I might just put oem stuff back on and be done for 500.00 but I could easily be tempted to upgrade to something a step or two up. The bf will likely find something in the next month or two that catches his eye and try to sell me on a big brake upgrade. He has been drooling for the G to be out of warranty since he met me...so he can get his hands on it. Then again, what I save on brakes I might spend on suspension and engine...

I'll check out the links - thanks everyone.

Gamma - I just laughed. As my friend J.D. says of the Nigerian spammers - it only takes one sucker per week to pay all the bills.

(no offense intended to all of the Nigerians out there who are not spammers)
