If you use cell phone cheats to get cars make sure you don't call up the helicopter listed. If you do it locks out two achievements. Calling up the cars (cop car included), motorcycles, and boats will not effect your achievements..
im trying not to use any cheats. when i get bored of doing all the missions, i might then but not yet.
stupid shit keeps happing to me. like one time, he wouldnt throw the grenade and boom! i blew myself up. i made it to the subway and i was trying to take cover from the cops and bad camera angles killed me.....i couldnt tell where i was getting hit from and by the time i did, i was dead...also, at that point i didnt have a vest anymore.
This is the same idiot mission i am on!!

do you mean the bank robbery? before you go on the mission make sure you buy a bulletproof vest at the gun shop and stock up on assault rifle rounds. Before you leave the safety of the bank, toss grenades at the clusters of squad cars in front, to the left, and to the right. It will blow up most of the cops right away.
You then follow Packie through the alleys. Go slow and pick off the cops as soon as they pop into your screen.
When you get to the intersections where there are cop cars to your right and left unload a bunch of bullets into the cars so they blow up taking the guys with them (I am sure you can toss grenades here too but I am not quick at cycling through the weapons so i always take a lot of hits when I am just standing there).
Make sure to crouch so it is a bit harder for the cops to hit you too. When you clear out enough guys, Packie will continue down the route to a getaway car..
Taking cover and consistant headshots help a lot here...

shoot at the gas tanks of the cars and don't hesitate to use the walls for cover. the guys that are with you won't die. also, don't forget to check behind you every now and then. the cops will try to flank you. if you make it into the subway, you're pretty much home free. once you're supposed to get on the tracks, stay to the right and hug the wall. your m4 should have enough range to hit the cops from a good distance, and packie and the other guy will follow you soon after you take off down the tunnel. you'll be told to find a 4 door car once you make it out. look out for an suv parked the opposite direction of where you see the cops coming from. jump in and find the longest, straightest street you can find and run.
by the way, the game gets a lot more fun once you complete this mission... more $$$$, more clothes, unlocked stuff, xbox achievements...

definitely a lot of money. i noticed that nj becomes unlocked too. the end of that mission is hard....its not easy getting rid of all those stars.
I tried calling up the cop to remove my wanted level a few times and that b*tch put it right to voicemail! WTF???
It seems like when you call up that chopper you can't complete certain objectives but as soon as you dump it for something else you have the ability to complete them again...maybe because it has machine guns...
^^I read through the cheats. I had no idea that turning down Dwane and all the others when they ask me to do things was bad...it seems like they always call when I am in the middle of a mission anyways..
Open your phone, scroll down (or up) to "options", and there you can turn off your phone so you can explore or just wreak havoc on the city without any interruptions. This will pretty much stop all game progress, and if you start any mission, mini-mission, or make a phone call to someone, you automatically turn your phone back on.
If the characters like you enough (by percentage, and it usually has to be over 75%) then they will do favors for you. Dwayne will send out two gangsters to back you up, Roman sends out a cab (which you can take on missions with you and do drive-bys in), Jacob will send you weapons, Packie sends you car bombs, Brucie will send you a helicopter, and after your final mission with Francis McReary, he will lower your wanted level.

If you are talking about Darko - the guy they bring to you in the back of the van at the airport, it doesn't matter. The only difference is what is said during the conversations afterwards.
BTW, there are two endings to this game, and you don't need 100% completion, nor does it matter if you use cheats or not to achieve either. Using cheats just disables achievements and keeps you from actually getting 100% completion.

i havent tried calling up people. are you saying that if you call them, they will get you shit to help you out on missions??
