Anyone here give up bikes for the G or still ride? What bikes do you or have you owned? I'm still fighting the urge to get back in the game but it is hazardous to my license, freedom and professional career.. Still mulling it over though.. Here's my history..
I havent had much
1994 fzr 600 -crashed it into a deer while going 70, rebuilt it and sold it
1995 fzr 600 -bought it reeeeal cheap and sold it for a big profit
2002 TL1000- owned it for a very very short time
1977 Harley FL- bought it when I was 20, had it for almost 9 years, rebuilt it twice/ chopped it real nice and it got stolen 2 months later (aint that a bitch!)
I have been looking at bikes for the past few months and I think I am going to get another one this spring. I am not going to get another sport bikeanytime soon. The bikes want to go 100mph all the time and so do I. You shouldn't be doing that on Main St in Middletown...
I generally try to stay out of the local dealerships.. especially right about this time of year when the weather is on the verge of cracking. impulsive, expensive things tend to happen.

Yeah I considered a cruiser type bike.. The Yamaha Warrior and Raider come to mind, or a Vrod.. but anything other than a sportbike kinda bores me. I have secretly wanted a Ducati Monster 900 for a long time but the wheelies..
if I was going to buy another sport bike it would be a naked bike like a Duc Monster (but I don't really fit on the monsters. My legs are too long I think) or maybe another TL ( the sound of the v-twin is awesome!). I have just known too many people who have gotten seriously hurt on sport bikes because people don't see or hear them coming. My Harley was so loud that everyone knew I was on my way from a mile away...literally you could hear it a mile away!
I have a friend selling a vrod for pretty chep but I like being able to work on my own bike and those NEED to be worked on in the shop...
Nope, legs are too short and I still remember my uncle being in the hospital after he got launched by an inattentive driver..........we got a lot of those inattentive drivers down here.

I've had a few short termers here and there, but don't remember them all at the moment.
Haven't ridden since about '99 or so after my last serious accident. Since then I've thought about getting into it again every time nice weather comes around, but for some reason every time I'm about to someone close to me either get's seriously injured or killed. That's kept me off my first love for almost a decade now.

I know what you mean about the accidents though.. I was lucky enough to avoid serious injury (just a Fratured elbow) but I witnessed a lot of friends die right before I hung it up. Sometimes you gotta just feel lucky that it didnt happen to you and quit while youre ahead I guess.
Yep that RC45 was truely a bute!!! A Duc has nothing on it when it comes to the roar it makes from that V4. It's got a special sound to it's exhaust due to it's 60 degree V? (I forget the details). She was really easy to ride and live with, unlike the Yamaha OW-01 FZR750. She was a homoligation limited edition and she was like a race horse. You'd have to ease into her she'd buck you faster than you could say, "fat ho!".
Bikes have my 1st love since I was kid and will always be, but reality of life sets in and priorities step in. I used to be so into bikes it wasn't funny. Still have some of my gear somewhere collecting dust. Still got my full leathers somewhere too. I miss it terribly, especially on nice spring days/nights. Good to see other bikers out there.
One thing I really miss with cars is the "flash-by" with most bikers. I'd always flash a peace sign or a thumbs up to every biker I crossed paths with and I wish it would be the same with drivers, but I guess that's too much to ask for.
