Props to her, surprised to see something positive like that written.
But I'm disappointed...I thought this was a thread for Neft and 14cent

A bit of a tangent, but what are your opinions on women in combat?
If they're willing to go through the same situations as the men and don't expect special treatment then I'm fine with it. Israel has shown that women can perform in combat...or is that another jewish-cia propoganda bit...might need to get bamboo in here to figure that out.

Well, that's sort of a misconception. The Israeli's don't have women in front line combat units. They do have them in combat support roles and serve in front line AO's. I know it may seem the same, but it really isn't. The Israeli's just have them exposed to combat intensive AO's, where they can and many times do see combat, but it's not like they have women in front line units that bust into house and charge machine gun nests.
I'm all for having women in front line AO's, something similar to Israel, but I'm not for integrating women into front line combat units. I think it adds to the already stressed logistics of war. Having commanded attached units with women in them, I do know the extra measures that need to be taken. Such as... women cannot stay in the field for over 7 days. FTX's with more than 3 days of field time require that we ship in large amounts of prune juice so that women don't get the trench foot in another trench.
I'm not trying to be funny here, just stating the facts. IMHO, adding any additional stress to the supply lines and logistical support hampers our ability to carry on a swift and mobile war.
Anyone else?

I am with you here. I have never commanded any Army units but I think that they should not be right on the front lines. I would be stressed out being in a foxhole next to a chick. Even if she was a brute I would be worried that she wouldn't be able to watch my back like I could watch hers.
So long as there is no preferential treatment and they meet a minimum standard of performance, I have no issues with women in combat. They are probably inherently more well suited to some operations than men are.

How could there not be preferential treatment for women when there are men around? If there are 30 men/women in a rifle PLT, yet there are only 5 women. Does that mean that we need to build them a second shower tent just for 5 individuals? Same goes for housing. By the way, this is what happens in reality today. Not very cost effective IMHO. Again, I'm all for allowing a broader role for women, but it must be implented extremely well.
